I love rarities like those, of course the normies outside of Net54 have no idea about these cards. Hope you are well and congrats on your recent pick ups, I don't know where you find that stuff, if I didn't know better I'd think you were a pre-war "Highwayman"... |

Great red cross, Steve! Really awesome.

T202 Lord Gets His Man
Another strong month of acquisitions for the "54". Let my copy of this card go about 8 months back and as a Black Sox fan immediately wanted one back
. On a side note, this was my 1`st venture into the new ebay "authenticity" program, NOT a fan so far. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...90d37517_c.jpgT 202, Lord Gets His Man, Black Back Factory 30 2`nd district. by Hugh Murphy, on Flickr |

Speaking of E card back runs- won this tonight and am hoping it’s the beginning of an E92 run though I’m well aware of the abject difficulty.

As per usual with these, the one and only in existence.....

Greg, I cost you some money at the end on that. I also fell asleep and didn’t bid more. Glad it went to a good home.

I had one of these a few years ago, an SGC 8, and always loved the "one and only" angle, but sold it in my tragic sell-off--for far less than I thought these unique items worth. Still wonder why still "affordable" but surprised and happy to get one back, and under-graded and well-centered no less.... |
Not exactly a pickup, but got my Shoeless (not to mention Chapman and Lajoie) back from re-holdering.
Also got my first Duke and only 52 Topps in. I can't get over the centering on this one, perfect. |

I can't believe how vivid, centered, and clean this looks! The best player of the 19th century according to Cap Anson, Paul Hines, and an 1894 players committee including O'Rourke. The former Home Run King. It's already off to get it's tuxedo label so I'll be posting it again when it gets back.

Found this for what I thought was an excellent price (not the eBay sale).

Been dreaming for years of having these two specific signed 1953 Topps Mantles flanking a centered 1952 Topps Mantle. Finally was able to take the photo today that I was envisioning. The PSA 4 is the new pickup and it thrills me to hold it. Well centered and a really fluid autograph.

Wow Matt. That's a nice display.
. |
Wow is right! Great pickup, and great Mantles.
|
Great show, Matt. Congrats!

Thanks, fellas. Feels good to share the vibe; tried explaining to my visiting mom today why I was so pumped about these— at least she seemed to get it way, way more than the wife LOL.
I just find the undergirding data on signed vintage so compelling; that's what drew me in a few years back... For example, almost 5000 of the 1953 Topps Mick unsigned graded by PSA. But only 48 signed. And only 19 are signed on a numerically graded card. Of those 19, generously half could be centered with a pretty auto. That is a very small amount as compared to say the 93 examples in PSA 8 holders. So I really dig the relative rarity— when one can be found with good eye appeal. |
Wow. Tough act to follow.

D304 Cobb sighting! My favorite pre war card. What a beauty. The Honus is pretty, too but that Cobb has always grabbed my eye. Very hard to find these days. Congrats!
