Really hoping to run across some T210/T211/T213 Memphis cards this year. Was lucky enough to pick up a T211 earlier this year on here, but missed out on a few T210s and T213s at auction throughout the year (just bad timing for me).
I'm also hoping to start working on a mid-grade set of 1953 Bowman Color, add a few new T206 portraits (hopefully with a HOFer in the mix), as well as continuing to hunt down some modern projects I'm working on. May 2022 bless us all with cardboard goodness. |

One thing I will likely do is go back and re-start my collection of ballplayers who served in the military. About 10 years ago I contacted the HoF and they sent me a spreadsheet of every player they had on record as serving, for every branch, and what war they were in. Then I got out of the hobby a couple of years later and after that, my computer crashed so I lost the spreadsheet.
Other than that I'll likely pick up a few more T206 HoF portraits and some other random vintage stuff that catches my eye. |
One or more of these.
1. T206 WaJo Portrait Brown Hindu 2. T206 WaJo Pitching American Beauty 3. T206 WaJo Pitching Cycle 460 Chad |
1) Cobb Bat-on
2) Walter Johnson throwing 3) 5-10 other non-big 6 HoFers (Mordecai, Evers, Chance, etc) 4) Attend the convention for the 1st time, hopefully sell/trade some cards there and get some autographs |

I just purchased an Ebba St. Clair yesterday (not in hand yet) so I'm down to 13 already. :D |
I have been after a 1915 Cracker Jack Cobb since the Biblical Flood. The '14 is just out of my price range at the moment, so my quest is limited to the '15. I have been the underbidder for one in 4 auctions in the past 2 years. I don't know if it will take a home equity loan, selling my beloved Mustang or setting up a Taco stand, but I am going to get one, hopefully an SGC 2-4.
|
My main goal for '22 is to be a more focused collector, and to give in less to impulse / things that seem like a good idea at the time. For me this will mean continuing to chip away at '67 and '72 Topps sets. I would like to replace some of slabbed '67 high number SP's I sold with lower grade but presentable versions of the same cards. I need to do the same with my '69 Nolan Ryan.
|
To keep fighting the good fight and get a few steps closer on T209/T210. Maybe even finish one of the 4 remaining T210 Series I need still. Best of luck to everyone.

Other posts have inspired me to focus more. Therefore I change my list to the following few:
1) A decent T206 Jimmy Collins (graded 2-5) 2) A decent T207 Duffy Lewis, graded or not 3) A decent M101-4 Joe Wood, graded 2-4 Feel free to message me if you possess one of these and want to talk sell/trade! |
My Top 5 (Net54 version) are:
Erik Greenwood |
My goal is to try to make progress on or finish some of the sets I'm currently working on without starting any new ones. I'm getting close on a lot of them, but I'm down to a lot of short prints and big stars.

My biggest problem is I'm also a bit of a type card collector as well, and always get distracted when something different or unusual pops up that I may not have seen in quite some time, if ever at all before. However, it does make it a blessing from the collecting standpoint in that no matter where or what show or AH sale/auction I go to or look at, I always seem to come across something I'm interested in. I guess that can also be looked at as a curse as well. LOL |
1) Knock one Seattle Zeenut off my want list. Picked up one during 2021 (1933-36 Page). Currently have 244 and need 8:
1921 Adams, Lane, Stumpf 1926 Brady, Eldred, Hasty, Plummer, Ramsey 2) Add at least 25 T206 Andrew |

I wouldn't mind grabbing another nice Goudey Ruth 144....
. |
I can add a few actual Hobby goals:
If the National happens and if these guys are there to sign, have these signed: https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...e%20Erving.jpg https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...indor%201.jpeg Trade into the last few T206 portraits I want (no, not Wagner and Plank, smartasses...exclusive of those two). I need a handful of the minor HOFers plus the Mathewson. Also be nice to score a T206 Speaker. 1933 Goudey Ruth #181. |
My goal for 2022 is to finally finish my 1939 Play Ball set. I am 7 cards short. I got all the HOF's already, so no big names left, but 6 of them are harder to find high #'s.
|
T206 Bat Off
Another goal is to pick up a nice, big top bordered, T206 Cobb, Bat Off to complete the 4 Cobbs. But this one has proven elusive with a big top border and full other borders.

Adam, that Jabbar is really nice. Beauty !

My 2022
Priority is the same as last year- Praying our Swinging Sixties submission gets done. Haha

As always, the Hall of Fame project is my main focus. I have the remaining 70 broken down by "Tier" with Tier A being the most expensive/most difficult and Tier D being the most common/easiest.
Tier A: 18 Tier B: 16 Tier C: 7 Tier D: 29 2022 GOALS Get to 290 Hall of Famers (49 remaining at that point) Acquire 1 Tier A subject Acquire 2 Tier B and/or Tier C subjects Acquire 19 Tier D subjects Add 1 Type Card to the Hall of Fame collection that I don't have already Complete 10 Hall of Fame Classes (currently at 40 out of 81) |
Collecting one of every "T" card that features a Buffalo player. Have a couple down already, but still looking for more if anyone's selling!
|
1. Finish my T206 Krause Portrait "non ultra-rare" back run. I need the EPDG, Sovereign and SweetCap 350/25.
2. Finish at least one other "common" back run from a list of like 7 or 8 players where I've got at least 3 or 4 already 3. Finish 4-5 of the Southern League portraits where I have 1 of the 2 (or 3) required 4. End the year with 200+ front/back combos, picking up cards I need that are reasonably priced (I may need to shift my definition of reasonably priced) |
I am starting a "Nate Colbert Home Run Ticket" collection.

Ted and Dale I got this close. The artist just sent me a picture. I can't wait till next week to have it in hand so I can frame and display it. |
I suppose that my pre-war White Sox wish list for 2022 would be:
1. Get to 250 front/back combos on my White Sox T206 master set (currently at 244) 2. Add a M101-6 (any Sox player) 3. Add a 1926 Exhibits (any Sox player) 4. Add a Novelty Cutlery PC of Walsh 5. Add a Wiliam Patterson (any Sox player) 6. Add a T204 Ramly John Anderson with a T.T.T. back 7. Add a $-on-Shield PC (any Sox player) |
This year, I want to focus on areas in the hobby that I feel are overlooked at the moment and have great growth potential.
