My prewar part is in the 50-100 range, but my Ripken collection alone is somewhere north of 3,500 cards.

Have about 15 1989 Fleer factory sets so there's about 10,000 right there. ( I got a good deal on them!)

All in I'd have to guess more than 50,000.

Now that I see that in writing, I realize that maybe I should thin the herd a little.

Any estimate about how many different Ripken cards that comes to without duplicates? That’s amazing.

The 3,500+ Ripkens is not counting duplicates. Not sure of the exact number. I need to find the time to get better organized.

The most recent milestone for my Ripken Collection was completion of the 100 card 2007 SPX Iron Man insert set whose cards are individually numbered to 699.

Pre-war I'm probably around 800-900.

+ or - 60,000 counting football and non-sports.

Hi

Just curious what kind of cards are in your 12 to 15 card collection

DiMaggio, Mantle, Maris, Mattingly, a few Jordans, a couple of Jeters, a couple of Trouts and a few Acuna's.

I have other stuff but that's the meat of my small collection.

Reading this thread has confirmed to me my wife's assertion that I am a hoarder.:o

I was surprised to see the options so low….I would have 1000 or less as the lowest option on this board..

I answered 100-500 because I'm currently just over 100 slabs. If I were to add the vintage unopened part of my collection it would total over ten thousand cards easily.

I've actually toyed with the idea for several years of paring down everything I collect (slabs, packs, boxes, memorabilia, toys, art, posters, etc.) to just 100 of my best pieces, selling the rest, and then every time I add/upgrade a piece in the collection I'd sell a piece to maintain that hundred item count. Do this for enough years and I think anyone on any budget could build an amazing collection, quality wise. I've obviously never followed through with that. I think it's an interesting idea and at 100 items the collection wouldn't seem to sparse or big to me. Who knows, maybe someday I'll give it a try.

+1

I suggested earlier there should be higher brackets, unless you are making the poll for pre-war only. And even then, any pre-war set collectors will easily be approaching 1,000 cards/items.
