Are the new owners searching for redemption already? There are so many scandals, it’s sometimes difficult to keep up. I could have missed one.

Yeah. If the truth means your holdings take a huge hit, maybe you can't handle the truth. Probably explains much of the indifference we see out there, and PSA's cockiness in playing ostrich.

Maybe their new AI Computer Assisted Grading Will Catch These Things In the future. Will it or Will it not? Let's Hope So !

You are way more likely to get an altered card by buying it in a PSA holder than by buying it raw.

I would be interested in simplified grading if AI is used. Removing the numerical system and verifying authenticity is about all I could buy off on. If AI were able to apply actual controls and provide consistency then that poses issues for those graded prior.

There have been so many of these presented to them--that scream having been altered--so would one more of those really hurt them? I think they could leave it in the holder and it would have no further impact on their rep. People will post how horrible they are and then the same guys bid in the next big auction and buy a 200K card in a PSA slab or spend 600K on several and then do it again a month later. Those guys are my favorite.

I don't care for PSA or SGC grading but I still buy cards in their holders. I just don't go by what they opined. :) I am more careful than they are.

For gosh sake, I would hope so.

But in this instance, no AI is even needed. Just as with thousands of other outed examples, a simple $10 Blacklight would reveal the paper filler and added color. The fact that PSA can't shell out for one of these is beyond me.

And there are people who know how things evolved over the years to the point that this is where we're at, but none of them will ever talk.
