Hoping for a 3 but leaning towards C 2.5.

I'll go E 3.5 to be different. I'll assume they somehow missed or ignored the mark.

Compared to a Ruth SGG 2.5

Compare with a known Ruth SGG 2.5 (left) it appears comparing yours is at least a 2.5, but grading can be subjective - I think your card has better eye appeal. 3.5==?

I changed the reveal to tonight at 10 PM EST so get your guesses in if you haven't yet done so, and thanks for responding!

John1941 06-12-2021 04:37 PM

C-2.5

Did you see the mark on the back, lower right hand area?

.

C-2.5

Congrats to those of you that said it would grade a 2. Nice call! And a lovely crease-free 2 it is, I might add. :)

Please don't mistake my swagger......it's just good old confidence after sending most likely over 1000 cards to SGC over the years!

I'm gonna work for them someday, they just don't know it yet! :)

Peace and thanks for the guessing game, Mike

Great looking card Chad - congrats!

Frankish 06-13-2021 08:17 AM

Yeah. I think I guessed a 2 also, although if I were to grade cards according to my own subjective criteria, it would be much higher. The color is terrific. Sometimes corners bother me, but these don't at all. And the back looks very nice, the ink transfer is pretty unobtrusive and I kind of like the mark...doesn't detract from my enjoyment and adds a little character.

Beautiful card!

Don't take this the wrong way, and please recognize that I am not very well versed in the whole grading thing (I just collect cards of two family members and don't care much about the grading), but why would you pay to have a PSA 3 crossed over to an SGC 2? Isn't a PSA 3 worth more than an SGC 2? Was it just that you wanted all your Goudey cards in the same SGC holders?

It does look very nice

Jay Wolt 06-13-2021 09:22 AM

The PSA 3 had a MK qualifier

Congrats to nat, our prize winner!

I had convinced myself that it was going to grade a 2.5, so I was a bit disappointed when I first saw the 2 pop up online, but that quickly passed when I saw the card in its holder. I think it looks great! And Babe now fits in with the rest of my set, or perhaps I should say that the rest of my set now fits in with him. It's the Bambino's world and we're all just living in it. :)

Thanks again everyone.

That's a sweet card! Congrats!
