Jeff, great addition to your incredible collection. I know you have been chasing that one for quite a while, good to see it finally made it into the proper home.

Rick

I really appreciate that! Thrilled to be able to acquire it and a little awed by the history of it honestly.

Just picked this up. I believe it to be c.1900, and it's marked 'Hand painted' and 'Germany' on the back. In my years of collecting I have only seen one other example of this plate, and the background was slightly different. It's also marked with a number on the back indicating many may have been painted. Has anyone seen other similar examples of this? maybe for other schools or different designs/poses?
Thanks

great piece....never seen one...

Used to be mine. Love it, but never found a good way to display it. And later, I envisioned my wife stabbing me with it if I kept spending money.

Glad it found a great home!
