Interesting to note that one of the investors in CU/PSA, is The Chernin Group, who also just bought Goldin Auctions. So now, they're going to be involved in running both the card grader, and the card seller/auctioneer. Conflict of Interest?????

Since they're going private it would certainly make it even easier to do a pal a favor. Reminds me of the song from Cabaret "I Am My Own Best Friend"

The conflicts of interest implied in that article are staggering.

Let's hope for positive change! That's quite a lineup of investors!

I liked them better when they were small, they answered the phone, and if you sent in a bad card Mike Baker would call you up and explain to you what you had missed.

It was only a matter of time before a seller and a grader merged. This hobby has turned into a mine field.

As someone who no longer was PSA customer. I will definitely give them another try once his new plan for it is in place. I agree that this is a good thing.

Maybe they'll get the Set Registry going again. I have an addition request in from July and one from August. Nothing but crickets.

The company is gong to continue to make profits and be successful people would grade a ham sandwich if they slabbed it, also the rumor is prices are set to be raised very soon.

I kind of equate this in the municipal bond world to the need for buying insurance on a municipal bond issue. The insurance companies can see how similar rates bonds are trading on the secondary market and then they price the insurance just high enough to justify paying for it. I assume, if this is not already being analyzed by this new group a similar analysis that PSA graded items are getting __% higher return on secondary sales thus can increase fees since the user can justify their returns.
