So I went down to the post office again today. The Branch Manager confirmed that it was 100% a fault on their part and the package was misdelievered. H told me that he was going to send someone again to the house that it was misdelievered to and that he would call me by 5 PM eastern. Additionally he gave me a direct phone number to him that I can reach out so I don't have to constantly be going back and forth to the post office.

So some minor progress on that end, but still no idea about the mysterious 2nd listing that popped up with the exact same card, in Jersey. More and more I'm leaning towards the possibility that I will never see this card but here's to hoping.

Did you pay with a credit card?

Did the branch manager indicate what sort of compensation might be available to you seeing as how the package was not insured. Him accepting responsibility doesn’t do you a whole lot of good other than to provide proof to your credit card company. Something tells me the seller is gonna end up taking the loss here which may be appropriate considering the value of the card and the decision he made not to insure it. Pretty crappy situation all around really.

Its seems almost 100% certain that the package was opened after incorrectly delivered.

Hopefully with the item being pulled from ebay (presumably due to fraud concerns) and the post office following up on the delivery address it will scare the person who opened it to just give it back.

Wishful thinking, but I try to be an optimist.

Did you inform the Branch manager that the item was listed on Ebay after it was delivered so they open a case if they have no luck at the address today?

I think the last sentence sums this up perfectly. It's just a crappy situation all around. And now it's going to have me second guessing anytime something is sent through USPS. I think I should be able to get my money back assuming I never see the card.

I didn't inform the branch manager of that. It will be something that I will bring up though, when I speak to him later today.

Another update, the Branch Manager did not call me. I reached out to the phone number he provided and got no answer. I filed a claim with Ebay. Just very upset and frustrated at this point.

James,

I recommend that you file a formal complaint against the branch manager. Based on your posts, he seems to be quite uncooperative.

You can do it online, and the process appears to be quite simple. (I think that "employee misconduct" would certainly apply here.)

Thank you. I finally reached contact with the Branch Manager. He instructed me that he sent postworkers to the other locations the package could've been dropped off at twice, and no one was home. I will be filing a complaint though. This has taken my distrust of the USPS to a whole new level.
