Very nice EPDG Cobb Jay!
Not to out do you or anything, but here are my recent incomings. For all of you high grade snobs out there  (Relax, notice the sarcastic smiley...I got love for all cards ;)). I know there are a lot of lower grade collectors on the board who don't share their pick ups since most people aren't showing off cards like these, so I'm posting these on their behalf. Anyway, here you go... . |
Beautiful EPDG Cobbie Jay!

Very nice Andy and Jay. Jay, are you going for a back run?
|
Thanks, Patrick! That makes 56 T212 Obaks now.

I can only hope I can finish the set like he did. The McLean is actually a really nice card but for the writing on the back. It's quite clean and presentable. Andy |

I don’t know if we are allowed to post football cards in the pickup section but I’ve been after an uncut Bazooka box (baseball or football) and picked this up. I think these uncut boxes are really cool pieces.

I have not posted any pickup's to this section in quite awhile, mostly because I have had a tough time picking anything up for my Cubs collection. It has gotten really slow when your hunting factory 25 backs (I'm just glad these 350/25 backs don't carry the premium of the AB & Cycle backs, even though they are a lot rarer back in some cases). With being stuck at home working the last couple of weeks, the stars really aligned, and I was able to locate up some cards I have been hunting for a long time (1st Steinfeldt 350/25 I've seen in 7 years)! Also picked up a couple tougher backs of Moran & Kroh to go with my factory 25's.

Nice blank back Chuck. Here is another blank back, of sorts.
You don't see these every day. This is my first Ebay pick-up in many months. |
Nice one Chuck! :) And another nice pickup Ryan!

T204 Ramly Johnson
Congratulations Andrew on that outstanding T204 Ramly Walter Johnson. Great card!

Some OJ's from the BST. Thanks, Kris
Humorous story about Freeman 171-5. A number of years ago I bought what I thought was a proof of 171-5 and it was explained to me that it was a repro, homemade, fantasy-type piece. I sent it back, and got a refund. Years later, I posted the scan again on here as "One of my favorite 19th images." Once again, it was pointed out to me that the card was not legit, and I realized that I didn't even have it anymore. I do think this n172 is good, so there you have it... |
1909 Lancaster Base Ball Team
1 Attachment(s)
Happy to add this May 16th 1909 Supplement to the North American Magazine to my collection. This is a little outside of my Cleveland collecting wheelhouse, in that it shows the 1909 Lancaster Red Roses Baseball team, but I was drawn to the early image of HOF pitcher and Cleveland Great Stan Coveleski pictured 2nd from top right.
The supplement measures approximately 11" x 14" and is affixed to a thin wooden frame with tape and staples. It may have been trimmed to fit the frame. If anyone has any suggestions on removing tape and staples, let me know! |
This Milwaukee boy loves the pair of Freemans!!

Thanks, Bryan. I will probably forget again in a few years and post the Freeman proof scan in a "What are your favorite N173's?" thread.
Nice, Lancaster piece. I would probably leave it just as it is, looks great...Rob |

Attachment 394799 Fun, fun, Scott |
Picked up my first T206 and the inaugural piece to my Washington Senators player set! Distant Distant relative of Unglaub and through researching his life came upon his and other T206 cards. I think it’s pretty neat! I don’t know how to attach images yet so I’ll just link the auction I won it at. https://www.ebay.com/vod/FetchOrderD...ransactionId=0

Thanks to fellow board members Kris19 for reaching out to me before listing. Terrific addition to my Des Moines OJ collection.
|
Nice card Craig . . . most Des Moines OJs are 1889 (Fc) with the 1888s being pretty special. Most 1888s are the very tough Fb style, Swartwood being the only Des Moines player as type Fa (nice misspelling to boot). The fact that it is a team update may be responsible for format difference from the other 1888 Des Moines cards.

Nice cards, everyone -- thanks for sharing.
I'm happy to have picked this one up...I haven't seen another blue back example yet. |
Close enough to pre-war....
|
Schwartwood
Craig look likes Schwartwood may have some radiation in his pocket...be careful...Steve, nice Jacklitsch...can't remember if I have seen a blue back or not...my checklist doesn't list the one I had as blue...Jerry

That’s awesome Brian. I have never seen that back (not that I follow those 1920-22 cards too close). What other players come with that back?
|
Fun pick up via trade with a fellow board member.

Well, at least Adams, Barber, Lyle Bigbee, Cobb, DeVormer, Falk, Flack, Gaston, Gharrity, Glazner, Griffith, Hollocher, Martin, Oeschger, Pratt, Rawlings, Rogers, Ruel, Scott and Elmer Smith. Those are the other twenty that were in REA beyond the Ward I won. I also previously had a Walker. |

Great cards everyone! I struck out on a few of the bigger items I was stalking in Heritage and REA, but managed to pick up a needed Bresnahan CJ last night, and have added a few other needed Cubs this month, as well as a Glasscock OJ from a board member.
