That is why I asked and was told "I was looking for the best players of the decade, whose rc was also in that decade." Now it seems like he is wanting top 5 players whose RC is in the decade. So, a different list.

50s Mays, Mantle, Aaron, Clemente, Koufax
60s Yaz, Rose, Morgan, Seaver, Bench
70s Schmidt, Brett, Yount, Molitor, Ozzie Smith
80s Henderson, Ripken, Boggs, Maddux, Griffey
90s Frank Thomas, Chipper Jones, Pedro Martinez, Bagwell, Beltre
00s Cabrera, Pujols, Ichiro, Kershaw, Trout

I am excluding known steroid users so Bonds, Arod and Clemens are disqualified. I have seen nothing but rumors about Bagwell, so he is on my list. I go by the original definition for RC, so the 2009 Bowman Chrome Trout is his RC, not the rookie logo card.

I would rate Gibson over Koufax.
I think I would rate Murray over Molitor who never did much for me.
I would take The Big Unit over Boggs.

I like the above, very good choices. The reason I switched to top 5; is I thought it was to hard to name just 1 player in any given decade. It would be interesting to see overall top 5 per decade if I threw the rc rule. I just thought made it tougher.

That makes sense. Here is my NFL list.

50s Otto Graham, Unitas, Dick Lane, Raymond Berry, Brown
60s Nitschke, Deacon Jones, Bob Lilly, Butkus, Sayers
70s Simpson, Page, Greene, Lambert, Payton
80s Montana, Taylor, Rice, R. White, B. Sanders
90s E. Smith, Favre, R. Lewis, P. Manning, Moss
00s Brady, Brees, Tomlinson, Fitzgerald, Rodgers

Great lists.
Starr over Lane?
I'd be tempted to take Ed Reed over Tomlinson.

I originally had Reed on but bumped him for Fitz. Starr is definitely worthy too, it was down to him, Berry and Marchetti for my last 50s slot.

On the Baseball list Murray and R Johnson were my 6th picks. I prefer Koufax's peak over Gibson's career and I love Gibby. I really need 10 for the 50s, that was the most talented decade by far.

80s FB is tough too, leaving out Elway, Marino, B. Smith. and Lott.

Baseball

00s: Honus Wagner
10s: Shoeless Joe Jackson (if I have to exclude
T206ers, otherwise Walter Johnson)
20s: Frankie Frisch (lol rookie card rule is hard here, really want Rogers Hornsby)
30s: Lou Gehrig
40s: Lou Boudreau
50s: Willie Mays
60s: Juan Marichal
70s: Bert Blyleven
80s: Rickey Henderson
90s: Frank Thomas (probably Jeff Bagwell, but I think he was juicing)
2000s: Albert Pujols
2010s: Mike Trout
