I did not post to this thread originally, but my yearly goals are usually the same
1) add as many new signed 1934 goudeys as i can ....
I was able to add Frank Grube.
2) add Lou Gehrig type 1 photos...
I was able to add 3 or 4 if them this year

So a pretty good year so far.

I think it's good that you passed on it. For the price it went for, I think others were passing on it as well.

At a point with my early Detroit Tigers autograph needs where even crossing off one name is reason to celebrate. 2020 especially fruitful with three acquisitions. Happy dance x 3.

After a year of no new signed 52s, I added 2 this year. At this rate, I could finish by age 65!

One other came for sale and I was not able to win it. According to people looking to buy my duplicates "the next one should sell for half, since one bidder has one already"

I did not post to this thread originally but just picked up a 1959 NFL championship signed by 30 from Ted Patterson's collection ( Baltimore sportscaster) which is a whale for me as a colts fan. And got a new project a sportscaster card of Father and sons Signed by Bonds Griffey and Mcrae father and son. I would luke to add Tatis Vlad Bichette Biggio etc. Anyway hope it keeps me busy for a few years. I added number 19 McGwire to my 500 HR ball. So all in all 2020 has been tough but my collection seems to be moving forward.

The Goals were to work towards Completing a signed set of "Living Legends" by Ron Lewis, and work my way towards finishing a run of Mantle cards from each year of his career. Specifically get a cad from 53 and 52.

I stumbled upon, and quickly purchased a full signed Living Legends Set

And then I recently Acquired a 52 Berk Ross Mantle

So Now all I have left is a 53 Card. However I feel somewhere down the line I'll end up with both a Topps and a Bowman.

That card/auto, along with almost all of the other items from the seller, are bad.

I agree. One thing about Farrell, almost every auto I've seen of his are from bottom left to top right in slant. I did see one that was authenticated going the other way, but I really had my doubts about that one.

On the autograph side here's what I'll be chasing

1) Jackie Robinson signed baseball from his time in the Negro Leagues. There was a team ball from the team that went to Venezuela in 1945 that sold at Christie's a few year bacl. Would love to find where that one or similar.

Didn't pick up a Negro Leagues Jackie baseball, but did find a signed sheet from his time at UCLA, which filled a whole in my collection chronicling his story up to Integration.

2) Looking to find at least one contract from someone associated with Integration. Something like a Don Newcombe minor league contract.

Haven't found any contracts yet

3) Not an autograph focus particularly but always looking for lineup cards from significant games and vintage lineup cards

Found a few really cool vintage and significant lineup cards.

- 1933 pair of lineup cards signed by manager's Walter Johnson and Connie Mack, where HOF Earl Averill hit for the Cycle

- Fernando Valenzuela MLB debut lineup card
- Ken Griffey Jr 400th HR lineup card
- 2000 WS (Subway Series) lineup card
- 1984 Olympics Gold Medal Game lineup card
- 1930's lineup card with Lefty Grove on the mound

4) Looking for at least one lineup card from a HOF manager that I don't already have.

- Picked up lineup cards signed by Ryne Sandberg and Joe Cronin. Also one filled out my manager Mel Ott. Technically unsigned, but he filled in his name.

5) Would love to pick up some more barnstorming programs and other barnstorming related items

Found a 1945 Paige/Feller All-Stars program which featured Jackie Robinson 3 weeks before his MLB debut. Also acquired a 1947 Paige/Feller program, which was the final season they faced off

Probably the biggest piece is a team signed sheet from the 1946 Paige All-Stars

Also picked up a really nice 1953 Campanella All-Stars tour
