Love the Horner stamp as I don't think I have seen that before. Thanks for posting it.
And thanks to all of those sharing their portrait cards. They are gorgeous. Looking at them makes me want to go buy one. Quote:

Hope to add a nice Lajoie portrait this year.
Nice run Jay. Glad you were able to pick up an EPDG and Sov 350. That OM is going to be TOUGH! http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=22166http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=22646 http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=25657http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=25640 |

Picked this one up at the 1985 National at the Disneyland Hotel when I was 17.
Without the slab, of course. Set me back $30, which was the most I had ever paid for a card. |
Good investment Scott! I mean that card has to be at worth at least $45 today. ;) Let me know if you ever want to sell/trade it.

No doubt, great looking card

Nice Chase run Ted!

I really think that blue Hal Chase may be the best looking card in the whole set. Any idea as to why so few Blue Portraits?

Dark Blue portraits......

The 150 Series comprises of most of the Portrait subjects (59). But, only the Waddell portrait in this Series was printed with a Dark Blue background. When you get into the 350 & 460 Series, the majority of the subjects are action poses. Here are the few Dark Blue portraits of the Major Leaguers.... Barry (A's) Chase (portrait) Dygert Knight (portrait) Krause (portrait) Murray (portrait) The Minor Leaguers, though, in the 350 series include these subjects with dark Blue portraits..... Arndt Batch Brain Dessau Malarkey Nattress Quillen Schlafly Schreck Thielman http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...edHINDUx50.jpg . http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...dHINDUx50b.jpg TED Z T206 Reference . |
Many of the ones I have are already posted, so I'll share one of my other ones. My favorite Southern Leaguer. For sheer eye appeal, I think it compares to the Johnson.

Hi Scot Thanks for the compliment. I still need to find the Carolina Brights card. Actually I have a nice Carolina Brights of the other Chase in the Super-Print group. Also, I need a Drum to complete this run. The Drum has not yet to be confirmed with the blue Chase card. But, I expect that eventually a Drum will surface. Then I will have to compete with several Net54er's for it. Take care, TED Z T206 Reference . |
