I've posted this before in the "Hey Pennant Guys" thread, but it fits in here too, so I hope you don't mind.

Such truly amazing items in this thread. Brendan - game used Hal Chase mitt is so very cool; especially considering he was such a great fielder.
Mark S - i have never seen that pennant with 'Champions' going down the side. 1936? Is it particularly rare? For me, as a Mets fan I don't seek out Yankees stuff but here's one item that i own that I wanted to post. According to retrosheet, only 15,000 fans at Griffith Stadium saw Babe play his last game as a Yankee. End of such an era. Great thread. |

Peter, That truly is a historic ticket. Nice! |

Catching up on the thread. Some awesome stuff posted over the weekend. Ticket stub to the Babe's last game as a Yankee, Hal Chase's glove...
Speaking of Chase, I have seen that Highlanders program before and always wondered why the artist drew him in a kilt. Obviously, the artist was playing up on what I guess is Chase's Irish heritage, but I always found it odd it would be put onto a baseball program. Mike |

These composite postcards of the 1911 New York Highlanders, 1911 Giants and 1910 Philadelphia A's comprise a unique series from The Sporty Postal Card Co. of Newark, NJ. These cards adhere to themes predominant in each team's positioning. NY manager Hal Chase is cast as the kilt - wearing leader of the team, a reference to The Gordon Highlanders, a British Army regiment recruited mainly from Scotland. A's owner |

Great thread! So many great items. Here are a few of my Yankee items.
- 1949 Larry "Yogi" Berra All Star game bat from Brooklyn. - 1933 Yankees vs As program. Babe Ruth hit 2 HRs that game off of Lefty Grove. - Yankee Stadium Seats |
And a section of bleacher seating
A 4.5 ft section of Yankee Stadium bleacher seating. Removed after the 1973 season for the renovations made during 1974-75.
The seat looks light blue in the picture, but it is grey. http://i997.photobucket.com/albums/a...psquxtfr2z.jpg http://i997.photobucket.com/albums/a...psihjr5rm8.jpg |
Dave Righetti's No-Hitter
My ticket stubs and a couple of the photos I took at Dave Righetti's no-hitter on George Steinbrenner's birthday, 1983.

Those Yankee Stadium seats and bleacher bench are beautiful. I have always wanted to own Yankee Stadium seats.
YankeeFan, I was supposed to have been at Righetti's no no. Had tickets and everything, but got punished by my step dad for something really dumb. He was a real jerk and I disliked him even more after the game. Mike |

Bobby Murcer's autograph that I got on the Boardwalk at Seaside Heights NJ during the 1981 Baseball Strike. I met him at the shooting gallery and he asked me to make change for his dollar we were side by side, and then we talked about 10 minutes he was really nice.

My dad is a life long Yankee fan.
I love him anyway. A few years ago I took him to Yankee Stadium and Cooperstown. My best Yankee items are pictures of him in Yankee Stadium. Doug |

Mark S - i have never seen that pennant with 'Champions' going down the side. 1936? Is it particularly rare?QUOTE] Hi Peter... Sorry I missed your question from way back in this thread... Yes, the Yankees pennant is from 1936, and very rare. I've only seen one other like it, and that one was really beat-up. FWIW, here is a sideways look at the left side.... |
Wonderful post, Doug.... VERY touching

Mark: That Yankees pennant is gorgeous!
Ron: Love those Yankee ticket stubs. Mike |
Great thread, thanks for sharing. I enjoy the old score cards, pre printed with lineups. Imagine that happening today. Also, the old ticket stubs and the low prices to see historic games in old Yankee stadium.
