1- You genuinely believe the cards are real? If so, have them graded. They'll be worth at least half a million dollars. 2- You want our opinion of the cards? If so, stop arguing with us. We've given you our opinion: they're fakes. 3- You came here to sell them? In that case, list them on the BST board. And please, include a price. I hate to be the one to begin the negotiations. |

I think he approached the wrong forum for whatever silly game he is plotting, probably listing these cards on Ebay showing some kind of endorsement from us that they are authentic. Right. What a loser. Note that he joined us, gosh, this month.

This has got to be a joke! Right??
|
I actually have another card with the same back stamp. I posted about it a while ago to see if others were out there. It was authenticated and slab bed by SGC.
|
Was the back stamp on yours under or over the paper loss?
If I had to guess whether the OP is a scammer or frightened because they paid big bucks for fake cards, my guess would be neither. My guess would be that s/he is a troll, just looking to start something here. Which, well, worked. |

This is my Mullin card with same stamp. Looks like the stamp was placed after it was unglued, as well. Huh.
|
Quite clearly they stole a scan of the back of your card to make the fake Wagner. The glue stain is exact as is the stamp placement.

I'm certainly no expert on the authenticity of tobacco cards.
However, the T206 online database has scans of most of the Wagners that have come up for sale in the last twenty of so years and I did not see that background color on any of them. As far as the Cobb is concerned, someone had earlier pointed out that the exact wrinkles were on another Cobb...and the Ty Cobb Tobacco back is the rarest of all Cobb backs. What are the odds of someone inquiring about two of the most sought-after cards ever and acting as if they don't know it. well LOL to you, sir ....now, Move along...nothing to see here... . |

I just can't imagine why that would be the case. Doesn't seem likely that a scam was being planned in 1999 to come to fruition in 2016. Maybe he should send it in to SGC or PSA. Stranger things have happened. Both Shreiner stamps are Detroit players. When did they first start making reproductions of the Wagner? Maybe he had his repro stamped as well.

The cards we showed were graded real Cobbs. The fake is the one that you posted, and that one isn't graded. |

I feel dirty that the back of my card has been used in such a sordid affair. I need a shower.

Real original in grader in background, Wagner of this thread in foreground beneath (there is some transparency on the Wagner scan, ignore it, I forgot to change it back before saving the image) http://i.imgur.com/LoQpBB7.jpg |
Still new here but check this out. When I first joined I thought you guys were rough on people. ( maybe to much or to hard)
But after being here for a little bit. I see why,it's like people seek out this site to troll/be morons. Lol so when so one shows up to town with acting a fool. Everyone runs and gets The pitch forks and racks. I got to say I got a good chuckle reading along to this one. |

Whatever happened here? The dude submit for grading?

I think that he realized that he wasn't going to get rich off these cards.
Or maybe you can find them on Craigslist. |
