Picked up a couple of Mantles. The Post Canadian will be up for sale once it arrives. I already have one but could not resist a rare variation at a decent price.

Okay, so not exactly cards but picked up two Mantle related items. The first is a Japanese made flower planter that is supposed to depict Mantle. The resemblance is horrible but the price is right. The second is a game used baseball from Game 7 of the 1952 World Series, where Mantle hit his second World Series home run and the Yankees won the game. I've got a ball from Game 6 so I had to have this one.

Just received this one in today's mail. Man, I'm having a ton of fun finding these 50's-60's mid grade gems. Centering doesn't get any better on this card.

My God, some beautiful cards this month. How can you not be romantic about baseball? How can you not wax poetic about this hobby?

The thing that warms my heart is seeing these really gorgeous examples that are so much better than their numerical grade would imply. You can't reduce a baseball cards to a series of subgrades. You just can't. It goes to show what an experienced collector can find when they are patient. There are some real gems out there that look so much than higher-graded, more expensive

You guys inspire me. I am beyond ready to start collecting again.

This is my favorite pick up in a long while. Nice '61 Bell Brand Duke Snider. Much nicer than the PSA 7 I had my eye on for quite some time.

Ive never seen this card before and it is stunning! Might have to file that away in the memory banks to get one day. Beautiful color and picture. Reminds me of the 53 Bowman Color.

Great looking card. It certainly looks to be under graded to me. I can see why it beat the PSA 7. Centering and overall eye-appeal makes that card pop! Congrats.

If memory serves, the jingle for the Bell Brand snack chip company was, "IF IT'S BELL, IT'S SWELL!". You sure got yourself a swell Snider.

Such a peaceful, serene backdrop to go with that cool-looking, elegant full-length portrait of Duke. I could look at that card all day. Congratulations bro, and thanks for sharing your joy with us.:)

New addition to the Rookie Collection:

I am not a Rose collector, but a set builder/collector. I have been slowly inching my way through (okay, more of just starting out) the 65 OPC set. In a grouping of regular Topps 65s I recently won, I came across this 65 OPC Rose. This is the kind of surprise that is appreciated.
