My current "gotta have" is the T205 Addie Joss, but...completing my basic set will likely come down to this card... Wish me luck! |
I'm not an Old Judge collector, but I would sure love to pick up a Delahanty w/bat. Love the image.

And obviously all 4 Cobb T206s :D |
Big Six. Matty...
Christy Mathewson.
...some day. |
As far as cards from a players actual playing days, I am hoping to get everyone on my wish list.
I am in the process of rebuilding now after having to sell most of my collection due to illness. But realistically, this one will forever be out of reach - http://i1154.photobucket.com/albums/...isonGibson.jpg |
Eddie Plank
I have a Fatima athletics team card that I say is my Plank in my prewar post 1900 type collection -trying to get at least one of each hofer - but it just doesn't feel right. Also need a Delehanty, Burkett, and chesbro . |

E94 George Close Cicotte with the orange background. I've never seen it but I think it exists.

Picking one player is an impossibility for me.
Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig Shoeless Joe Jackson Ty Cobb Honus Wagner Cap Anson Christy Mathewson Joe DiMaggio Mickey Mantle Ted Williams That's just for starters. The list is long, but distinguished. |
Pete Reiser ... 1952 Topps grey back version.
|
Henry Mathewson
|
1931 E. Quintana Doble Aguila Martin DiHigo
PhilliesPhan, if a red bordered Zeenut O'Doul shows up you'll have a rival for it ;) |
Matty
For you good folks here - the T206 Matty white cap in a nice PSA 5 or higher is tough, way tougher than you may think. Shhhh!
|
Cobb T206 .........easy
|
Honus Wagner, but not the T206. Ever since I was a kid in the 70s I always liked him, he seemed like a nice guy and a great player. He was a stud in the Sports Illustrated All-Time Greats BB game, because he could almost steal at will.
If I ran across a T206 Wagner (hey my house was built in 1885, its possible) I would sell it and by a Caramel or Cracker Jack one, and pay off my mortgage with the rest of the proceedes. I'd also by a 33 Goudey Ruth #144 (my all time fav card) like the one Leon was displaying a while back. For now I'm saving my pennies! Bob |
CJ Harry Hooper. I still wish he had a T206 card!

Tom Seaver rookie. He was my favorite pitcher growing up. I have had tons of other rookies from that era but for some reason have never owned a Seaver rookie. I'm not really looking for one at the moment, but I'm sure some day I will get me one.

Good topic, Raymond! It's very hard for me to pick just one name. I could go with Ruth and Gehrig, Cobb, Shoeless Joe, Aaron, Mays, Jackie, Stan the Man, Matty and Tris, Joltin' Joe or Mick....but I think I'll have to go with Ted Williams. As soon as I can star collecting again, Ted will be knocked off my want list.
|
Honus Wagner followed closely by Eddie Plank. I'm in the middle of a Wagner Biography and he is really calling me through the cardboard!
|
A nicely centered, low PSA graded, 1954 Topps Hank Aaron rookie. That'll be the last card I get for my set because it's the holy grail of my set and I'm hoping that this bubble will burst and I'll actually be able to afford it.
|
Wouldn't take much to make me happy.
Either a low grade E90 or 1914 not 1915 CJ Joe Jackson or a mid grade centered green Cobb. No biggie...... |

I did finally get my Denny Lyons card but then I found out that a Henry Mathewson 'card' exists, so I am now hunting for that one I'm sure others may have discovered other cards that they are want now  The thread may be 11 months old, but it is certainly not 11 STRAIGHT months old...wish I could 'suspend' some of my own age so easily. . |
The two I mentioned were a Joe Jackson CJ or e90-1 and a N162 Anson. Unfortunately I haven't added those or any cards of either.

Easy card, but I've not seen one
I've always been an admirer of the Ed Konetchy/Glove on Ground t206. So much going on between the base behind his foot, fielding, looking up, etc. What I would consider one of the better action poses in the set. But since the card would have to have Howe's stamp on the back to fit my collection, haven't seen this particular card yet.
|
T206 Plank, Wagner is clearly out of reach but I keep telling myself well maybe a psa1 Plank for around 20k is at some point attainable. Probably not though.
|
Babe Ruth for me. Some day...
