It's been for sale. But this is if we could have a card off the board what would you pick. I'd chose that Cobb.

Ken - I considered a 1923 W572 Rapp or Barbare - but the Reiser is higher on the priority list!

Cheers,
Patrick

My favorite card of anyone's on this board -- and I agree, very undergraded.

Here's my other two mentioned above:

Yeah, I'll plead guilty on this one.

But look on the bright side: Josh picked your card as the one card he most wanted. No one has mentioned any of my cards.

Nap

There was a lovely Lajoie Novelty Cutlery for sale in B/S/T. Would love to have been able to afford it.

As a type collector, I'd have to go with Leon's or John's T231

Dan - that is the only year that The Sporting Life made a team postcard set. That postcard is generally considered Cobb's earliest appearance on a "card."

Maybe you were thinking of a 1905 The Sporting Life premium?

To many great cards to choose from so maybe the best option would be one
of these.

Funny how you bring that up about Ty Cobb. There was a special insert in my Atlanta Newspaper on Ty Cobb. Back in his early days playing for Royston Reds. It had a nice pic of him with 4 kids showing he was born in Northeast Georgia where he got his start. Then there was another team photo in the 1890's where he looked very young, much like that one posted here.
** I will see to scan those photos and the reading material for ya guys. Or maybe you can see it in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution dated Sunday May 17th. It was in the E-section called Living & Arts.

UPDATE with some PICS from newspaper:

When I saw the original post, my answer came to mind instantly ... and while I have the same sentiment as Glenn on Leon's upcoming divestiture - so to speak - its for a different reason, namely:
