Whenever the subject of the T206 Egan being unpleasant to look at comes up, I always have to trot out this D381 card. He was not a very attractive gentleman, and I believe the T206 artisians did a fine job making him look presentable.

LOL! your the man! the uglier the scrap, the better for me:);)
I'm surprised no one mentioned Anderson:confused: looks rather "creepy" to me.... altho this litho set is so beautiful, there are some where I think the artist was out to lunch..... I'm surprised Wagner and Johnson were mentioned:confused: my top 5 worst: 1) Shannon 2)Anderson 3)mullin 4)purtell 5)Kissinger 5 fav 1)Honus Wagner 2)Sherry Magee(port) 3)Wid Conroy (bat) 4)Hal Chase( Port) 5)Ty Cobb (port) red back |

Sorry Frank I did say that I stole your idea. Hopefully you don't mind as this is a variation of what you're tracking. Three and a half years eh ? I doubt that this will keep up as long as yours. NO REGRETS !!! |

I'm pretty shocked at how little traction my suggestion of Bill Burns has gotten as he is easily the dorkiest looking card in the set. I can only think this is the case because I didn't post a picture to begin with. No way is Billy "Tiny Legs" Purtell worse than this atrocity! IMO this should rival Shannon and Egan for the ignominious honor...

I vote Shannon. Absolutely horrible!

Yes the Burns is pretty damn ugly but alas it is a Sox card so I'm forced to almost like it. |

Matty McIntyre is by FAR the creepiest T206 card of all!

My vote goes to Carleton Molesworth. He couldn't look less interested. Looks like a weekend beer leaguer after a particularly tough night.
Plus, with the name, he sounds like he should be a butler on Downton Abbey. "I do say, Molesworth, it has come to my attention that you've taken to raiding the larder before retiring each evening. Ease up, as the indulgence is going to your waistline". :D |
Mr. Moley has been added and +1 for Matty.

Ed Lennox
So I guess I am the only one who dislikes Lennox

I mentioned the boring single color backgrounds and Lennox is one of the more boring.

This card was released in 1909. Johnson started his career in 1907. When this card was in circulation in tobacco packs, Johnson was 20 years old, with a 19-23 career record. He wasn't even a star yet, and had 398 of his wins ahead of him yet. The vast majority of pictures I've seen of the Big Train represent him later in his career. Well, this card portrays Johnson when he was still a kid, really. He's not going to look like a grizzled veteran at twenty years old. Here's a tobacco ad of Johnson circa 1915. It is much closer in resemblance to the Johnson portrayed on his portrait card. http://imageshack.com/a/img910/1245/8IT5bL.jpg |

+ 1 for the dough boy
Mr. Lennox has been added to the list. I agree Bill that was a hilarious observation about Burchell very clever and funny. |

Sorry for not getting back to you before now, but how many profile photos of Walter Johnson have you seen? I can't recall any. You are probably right, I'd just like to see some proof, before Walter displaces any of the other uglies. -Raymond |

I vote for Egan, but ... the fact that Burns is shown wearing the wrong glove on the wrong hand makes it hard not to vote for that one.

Kidding...I'm just a little biased because I'm doing a back run for Admiral Schlei (catching). |

I know it's corny to bump your own thread when it's a Off Topic one but I also have noticed quite a bit of new members. It's been nearly a year since the last post so.............................. BBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMPPPPP
For the record I still don't own: Egan Kruger Shannon |
The ugliest T206 card still trumps about 99.9% of the cards made today. ;)

Shannon. He was dead and mummified for 200 years before being posed for that card.
And why did they dislocate his shoulder while posing him?? |
