I imagine Ed took out the first two dudes with his ninja skills, but the third guy unfortunately got away with the T3s...

Very weird thread.....not sure why I read it.

Briefcase Found

With a little help from Frank, I think I am on the trail.

While walking behind a rent by the hour motel (no name mentioned), I found a briefcase beside a dumpster. I remember that a long time board member mentioned something about losing a briefcase and was needing help. Excitement filled the air and I was feeling a sense of accomplishment. I immediately thought back to all those times of watching Hong Kong Phooey (Saturday cartoon show) and thinking how one day all that time sitting in front of the TV would pay off.

Sorry, I got off track. Anyway I walked over and picked up the briefcase and noticed that there was something in it. My heart was racing as I thought man this is it. As I opened it up to review the contents, my joy was replaced with sorrow as no T3s were in there. The only thing in the briefcase were copies of "Effective Communication" and "Correspondence Made Easy".

I will continue my search.

Frank

I thot Motel 6 was the one that "left the seat up"?

Could it be Professer Plum, in the Ball Room?

No scans, no certs.... certainly looks like it's going to be a tough case to crack.... have you spoken with Encyclopedia Brown yet?

gnaz01 11-08-2014 05:17 AM

Could this be Adrian using a new name :D

Tao_Moko 11-08-2014 06:48 AM

I'm so ashamed for chiming in.

My thoughts were that maybe our community would be heart broken over the loss and all come together to donate some cards of our own to fill this void. Surely someone has a spare collectors grade T3 Cobb they are willing to part with.

Er!c Sh@rp

milkit1 11-08-2014 07:21 AM

If someone could Photoshop the "wagner lotion guy" with a t3 Cobb id really appreciate it :)

I suspect the briefcase was locked because of the valuables within. Therefore the thief was interested in the briefcase and had no knowledge of the contents. The briefcase was made of fine leather, either black or brown. A three digit code or a key would be required to open the case. If the thief had the wherewithal and time a total of 1000 three digit codes could be tried and the case could be opened safely. He would then gain access to the case. I suspect that he knew what might be in the case and was interested in the classified documents rather than cardboard. If the thief was in a hurry, a crowbar was probably used to crack the case and obtain the documents. I therefore conclude that the Turkey Reds are essentially a red herring in this drama and can be found in a dumpster behind the Motel 6 in Ocean City, Maryland.
I could be wrong, but if there is a board member in the vicinity of Ocean City, let me know what you find.;)

Not classified documents and not fine leather, but I think I could find the time to crack open this case with one of a thousand three digit codes. :D:D:D

So I'm curious as is everyone why the op had his t3s in his briefcase at a hotel. Could be something innocuous ie:

I wanted to bring the cards to work to show my boss, then on the way grabbed a drink at a hotel bar and got robbed

Or something more sinister:

I had to bring collateral to show the bookie I could pay if need be then I got robbed. Or I was going to pawn these cards temporarily for a fix, then I got robbed.

Or a combination of the two:

After showing my buddies at work my cool cards I went to meet a hooker at a hotel. The pimp met me there and proceeded to rob me of my cards.

I am enjoying this choose your own adventure thread! Whatever the reason I still hope he gets those cards back

This post made my morning!

I believe I have identified the suspect. As I was reading the Washington Post I noticed a very suspicious picture taken in Hagerstown, MD. At first this looks like a normal meat packing plant but upon further inspection the nefarious truth is revealed. Is that hooded fi gu re working or (more likely) inspecting the stolen contents of a briefcase of cards? You be the judge. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...d5393dcee3.jpg

I think he is retching after seeing his co-worker handling the ground meat with her bare hand. That wedding band has years and years of everything hanging on it:eek::D

Actually, the meat is being processed in a subway station men's room. That is painfully awkward Rob Lowe, unable to go with anyone else in the room.

grainsley 11-08-2014 09:25 AM

Police?

I may have missed it due to my quick peruse, but was it ever confirmed that this was reported to the local PD? Which one? Assigned for follow-up? Call me negative.....

Is it possible that this is the breifcase that Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega were securing for Marsellus Wallace? The T3s give off a glow when the case is opened?

Gee and all these years I was sure it was a battery powered light with a gold-colored lens. Boy, do I feel stupid. Maybe I will put the cream of my collection in a Pulp Fiction Lunch Box and head off for a night at the Motel 6.

Part of the hobby that just keeps making me more upset - good luck with the search

We had a 1957 set taken at the Boston Show - theft seems to be up so be careful

EvilKing00 11-10-2014 05:16 PM

Ot, but in the same almost odd and bizarre vien, if your a met fan, mets just signed cuddyer to a 2 year deal. Maybe fred willpon took the brief case thinking there was cash in it to pay this guy.

HOF Auto Rookies 11-10-2014 06:01 PM

Apparently this clown could give two shits about this so called briefcase with these cards in it with no paper trail that we know of.

I bet he stole the briefcase, then someone stole it from him.

Good troll

Is it against forum rules to sell briefcases on the B/S/T?

Has the original poster ever answered any of the questions? No doubt that this is all a lie, but very peculiar in that I don't understand the motive?

sycks22 11-10-2014 08:33 PM

If he stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night he'll figure it out in no time.

the 'stache 11-11-2014 06:17 AM

I can't be the only person that immediately thought "you have two T3s your father left you, Ty Cobb and Cy Young, and you don't have a scan, a picture, or even the serial numbers from SGC"?

Maybe some people like to be the center of attention and will do anything to get it. Their ego is limitless.
