My Sincerest Condolences
Hi Dan- Just wanted to let you know that we went through this with our dads also, and it is never easy to say goodbye to someone so close that you love and whom gave you life. There are so many reminders to come and the respect you had for each other was a gift. Understanding of what is important in life as time goes on will always be a reminder of your love for him. The most important statement I can add is always remember how fortunate you were to have this quality time with your dad, a true hobby legend, and that the memories always are there for you to cherish. With great symphathy, Larry & Ellyn Gladstone (E&L Vintage Collectibles Corp)

Sorry to hear this sad news, Dan, but how great to share a hobby with your Dad for all of those years.
|
WOW!
I can't thank all of you enough for all of the very dear and kind words. Pops was very special to everyone, I have never heard a single bad word spoken about him. I was so very lucky to be so close to him and have him living with us the last 7 years. Just reading this thread helps more than all of you can imagine, I am touched by the members here and Leon for being so kind to post this for me. W/O Pops, I am in pieces. |
Hey Dan
Our hearts go out to you and your family. You know you are one of the luckiest guys in the world to have had a Dad that was so great for so long. When your Dad left us the world was a bit dimmer place. I can't thank you enough for bringing him by my table at the National a couple years ago so I could speak with him for several minutes. What a great, great man he was. I am so glad I had the several conversations with him over the years. They just don't make them like that anymore. He reminded me so much of my grandfather in the high morals and integrity dept. RIP Pops. |
I actually got to meet Dan Sr. briefly at the National Convention in Baltimore. The fellow really looked in his element. My best to the who McKee Family during this difficult time.

Here is a picture of Pops completing our Indian Master set.

I lost my dad in 1979. I was inconsolable as he was a better man than I could ever hope to be. But, time is a healer. I think of him often now but the painful grief of his passing has long since subsided. Hang in there and feel free to lean on your many friends in the hobby. Mark |
Dan,
My heartfelt condolences on your loss. Knowing how much joy I have sharing this hobby with my son, there is no doubt you have given your dad more pleasure and satisfaction spending his time with you than you can ever imagine. I pray that by your savoring the memories and knowing you were there for him in so many ways, it will make it a bit easier to get through these difficult days. All the best, Hank |
Dan, I lost my Dad a few years ago and he meant the world to me. I sincerely understand your loss and offer my deepest sympathy to you and your family, Bill

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Mike McKee |
Sorry Dan
Sorry to hear about your Dad. We have had several discussions about how lucky we both have been to share this wonderful hobby with our fathers for so many years. It was great that your Dad was able to finish his Indian Gum set and you could do it together. Thoughts are with you, my friend.
Jeff |
Sorry to hear this. Wish I could've met this great man. May he rest in peace, and peace to you, Dan.

Dan,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you. I only had the honor of meeting your dad once - at a National a few years ago when you were pushing him around in his wheelchair, but could tell he was a great man. Take care, Jim |
