I love seeing the "through the years" collection of a single player.

Here is Tubby Spencer (I wonder how he ended up with that nickname? :) )

Fond memories and certainly one of the best Z poses in the prior collection. That was a Trucker Boy find card. As you might know as I have recalled it several times before, I got it from the grandson of the guy how collected it as a kid. Great card, congrats.

I don't mind the period writing on this one at all!

Wow, nice Matt! Never seen that one before.

Luke.... You're in deep trouble !! You're hanging around too many Zeenut collectors and you live in PCL territory. Once you get to the 500 different plateau on T-206, you'll be forced to collect Zeenuts... Without proper planning, you'll be eating ramen twice a day until your hair turns gray.......:)

I can testify to the truth in Mark's words. I am a PCL junkie, and happy of it!

Mark, you get ramen TWICE a day? You aren't trying hard enough! (like you need anything else) Check out my post on the D310 thread, I finally scanned all my D310s and posted there. I would love to hear what you think.

PCL cards rock. They aren't the flashy T cards but they are a lot of fun to collect. I love the Heilmann above too!! (as well as the rest of them of course)

My favorite:

The Saga of Solly Mishkin [down the page a bit]:

http://www.oldcardboard.com/eNews/20...31/eNews31.htm

Sammy Bohne: per Wikipedia: "Samuel Arthur "Sam" Bohne (born Samuel Arthur Cohen; October 22, 1896, in San Francisco, California – May 23, 1977 in Palo Alto, California), is a former professional baseball player who played second base from 1916 to 1926. Bohne was Jewish, but according to author John Rosengren, the Cincinnati Reds persuaded him to change his name to Bohne because its front office ' "brain trust" didn't believe the city's largely German population would welcome a player named Cohen."

Ox Eckhardt: per Wikipedia: "Oscar George "Ox" Eckhardt (December 23, 1901 – April 22, 1951) was an outfielder for the Boston Braves and Brooklyn Dodgers. Eckhardt holds the all-time professional baseball record for batting average, counting both major and minor league stats. His .192 in 57 major league plate appearances barely lowered his .367 career batting average in the minors (second all-time among minor league-only batting averages to Ike Boone's .370). Eckhardt ends up fractionally ahead of #2 Ty Cobb, whose career .366 is also lowered marginally by his minor league stats. In 1933, Eckhardt hit .414 for the San Francisco Missions. He was later inducted in the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame. He also played fullback, halfback, and quarterback for the Texas Longhorns and the New York Giants."

Apparently, he was a 1928 NY Giant:

Tis is one of my favorite "mess up" cards... anyone notice what is wrong with Otis Brannon? (Dahlgren for comparison)

shouldn't his right arm be under his left one on the follow through swing?

Marc is correct!

Check out the title of the card, instead of "coast league" on the front it says "coast coast" for some inexplicable reason.

My avatar, which I still don't own. And only currently remember that it is a 1921 card.

Here's my first Zeenut. I have just recently been getting into the PCL as I've been trying to put together a T212-2 back run. After doing research, I've become fascinated with the early pioneers of the league and members of the PCL HOF like McCredie, Pop Dillon, Hap Hogan, etc.
