Can't do much better than this: boxing HOFer Bert Sugar's press pass from a heavyweight title fight with both his autograph and his picture on it.

I loved that pennant when you first posted it earlier this year. That has to be one of the centerpieces in your collection. Congrats again on that terrific pickup in 2013! :) |

1938 National Air Mail Week - Van Meter, IA Envelope

By far my favorite item this year. Thousands of cities participated in this promotion back in 1938, creating their own unique designs for the occasion. Van Meter, Iowa decided to honor their favorite son for this event.

Thanks Carlton. Any idea what year these pennants were produced? If you come across a Cal pennant from the same era and you pass please let me know. You scored big time on the hurdler statue, absolutely stunning piece! Cheers

My first flannel; I've been wanting a quality player and finally pulled the trigger on this Vern Stephens.
2 bats I never thought I'd get: Cecil Travis and Mickey Vernon. The Buddy Myers was gravy. Ken |
Thanks everyone! Yeah I have the bonus of Claire's sig on the back with Ruth written twice on front in the Babe's hand. It really was the prefect piece I was looking for and I think I got a great deal on it!
Nice pickup Scott. |

Mine would have to be the T206 players bats that I have acquired in 2013, and the various T206 player autographs that I am putting together. I just started on the autographs so I only have about 20 or so and I'm still in the process of hanging them up...

Thanks! One day I'd like to get individual wall mounts that would also hold their T206 card.
In order: Harry Davis, Pat Moran, Roy Brashear, Dolly Stark, Art Fletcher, George Stone, Gavvy Cravath. For complete accuracy, the Pat Moran and Art Fletcher were "coaches bats". |

1928 Babe Ruth Candy Wrapper. Been looking for one for a while framed, matted and displayed. The white dot in the middle is the flash from camera.

Thanks for the kind words Chris!

Mostly cards this year, but this photo arrived today.

Best is a relative term. This is not the costliest or highest quality (in terms of condition) acquisition of 2013 but it is probably my favorite:

Just gorgeous images... incredible color and clarity.
If anything in Baseball is more attractive than the Cardinals' classic Uni, I would like to know what it is! |
With all apologies to the Pinstripes, I heartily agree!
