wow steve! thats killer! I am going to do that exact same thing with my team set when i m done! Do you do that by just laying the cards down and pressing the glass against them?

Yes. The cards are free floating on a bed of cotton covered by the black material. Note too that this is one large plexiglass screwdown, not glass, though I suspect that glass may work as well.

Nice thing about this manner of display is that there is no damage to the cards since they are not affixed by glue or otherwise.

JimB,

Love those Allen & Ginters. If I ever start in the 19th century it will be with those. Does that represent the entire set?

Also I don't recall having seen any Ty Cobb backs in any "show your cards" threads. Maybe I just forgot............

Nice and thanks for sharing.

tonyo 03-03-2013 06:03 AM

Gets my vote for most artistic:

These ten represent all the baseball players in the set. There are 50 total cards, but personally I am only interested in the baseball. The N29 set has six baseball cards including Buck Ewing.

Thanks everyone.

JimB, incredible collection. More importantly, the way you handle yourself on the board does not go unnoticed.

Thanks for sharing.

MVSNYC 03-03-2013 10:19 AM

Brian- Wow. ok, you win! :) ...that's incredible.

What's the approx. break down of your rare backs (total number of CB's, Hindus, etc)?

i did a quick count of your "Hindu" photo...about 165-ish?

PS- Turner- that's a super impressive photo!

Brian Weisner 03-03-2013 10:28 AM

Hi Turner,
I don't have anything you need... Most of my T205 set, except for the rare backs are "hand me downs" from you....;) I'm only twice your age...
Hope you are well Brian

PS What set are you working on now....

Hey Michael,

Major league players who lived or played in Kansas.

Matt E. 03-03-2013 01:35 PM

Those have all been upgraded. That trade was a very pivotal point in the set.

Thanks,

Glad you guys have stuck with it! That pic makes me want to do so many things with my collection. (Must stay focused......must say focused.....)

Brian Weisner 03-03-2013 02:43 PM

Hi Jimi,
Me too.... If I had been as focused as Turner over the last 30+ years then I'd probably be done with a Super Set.... Too many "other cards" and distractions....
Be well Brian

PS I hope to see Matt and Turner in Chicago this year....

cdn_collector 03-03-2013 02:52 PM

Great pics, all.

Rawn -- you should think about adding a T206 to your Carrigan collection ;)

Richard.

Always wanted to do this with all of my cards...it all started with the T206 Matty Dark cap in the center, and has spiralled out of control since then. I guess I will need a bigger round table sometime.
