He has a true passion for t206 cards like no one else

This is a great post :D:D
You rock Johnny V., I also love your enthusiasm about these cards !!! :D:D
Although I don't have a chance to get many freak cards, you gave me a great appreciation for them- thanks :)

Sincerely, Clayton

The first crop mark in the bottom left corner that I have ever seen. First crop for Randall too. Real happy I was able to pick this one up last week

Print mark along with a large print flaw during the blue pass. There may also be some lettering along R side, but to subtle for me to tell for certain.

Nice Rich, don't see to many full "T" marks out there.

PICKED THIS ONE UP A FEW WEEKS IN ATLANTA, HELP PLEASE:eek:

It looks possibly skinned. Can you get a better scan?

SushiX37 01-22-2013 06:23 PM

I'd probably agree with atx840, but we'd need a better scan first.

Larry, I agree with Chris. I believe it to be skinned. As a soaker supreme, you would know if that was scrapbook paper added to the back.:D

Too bad, it's a great looking card. At first I was like dang! He got a cool blank backed Joss!

Joe Doyle printer's mark

Remnant printer's mark on the Joe Doyle card (center)....after the 1st printing plate erasure of the "Nat'L" lettering on the error card. The caption in the rightmost
card is clean. The majority of the Joe Doyle cards have a clean caption as this one. My sampling of 200+ different Joe Doyle cards over the past 6 years indicates
that approx. 8 % of the Joe Doyle cards have this printer's mark. And, I expect that a larger sampling will eventually yield even a smaller number than 8 %.

Great info Ted! Thanks for sharing. This brings me to my next question though...I have a Joe Doyle, SGC 50 and it seems to have a partial "Y" in the N.Y. There is no paperloss, so it makes me wonder if it is a printer mark or just lack of ink on the printing plate.

tedzan 01-23-2013 08:20 AM

Wazoo

I have also seen one of those. In my opinion, it is more of a printing flaw, rather than a printer's mark.

Others may differ with this observation of mine.

I seem to agree. I feel that it has something to do with the printing plate, and maybe it was just missing a little ink when the card was pressed.

poor mans doyle natl:D

MVSNYC 01-28-2013 12:21 PM

Ted- at the left, that's the fake Doyle error, correct? the type face is totally different then an original unaltered T206. also the "AT'L" should be smaller in height then the "N".
