Thanks Phil, I like your Delahanty, too. Plus, the Roger Conner is a great card.

Thanks everyone for sharing your cards. Lots of awesome stuff here. Joe G, your Deacon White cards are incredible. And Jim B's smokin Comiskey plus mindblowing n167 Ewing.

Nice cards Mr OJ-NJ! Love the Cross!

Joe_G. 12-04-2012 08:56 PM

Very nice Kevin!, Orator Shafer would be my fav of the bunch. Amazing group of cards.

Matthew H 12-04-2012 08:56 PM

Look at Mike Griffin. He thinks he's cool with his arms crossed.

Seriously though, the Cupid Childs and Lave Cross are Kewl. All of those cards actually, nice stuff Kevin!

z28jd 12-04-2012 09:03 PM

I'd like to see a Griffin w/bat, the pose I didn't believe existed until I saw it in the OJ book. It's never been up for sale in the last 12+ years that I know of...anyone got it? It's actually pictured in the Fritsch reprint set too

Matthew H 12-04-2012 09:04 PM

Joe, that's my favorite Deacon White pose - awesome!

cyseymour 12-04-2012 09:09 PM

Some smashing OJ's in there. A Deacon White. Cool Griffin card. And look at that Jim McCormick, for gosh sakes!

Do you have any with strong images?

cyseymour 12-05-2012 02:04 PM

Tyng was the man. Helluvan athlete, apparently. Love the spotted tie card, Matt.

John, your Delahanty is an absolute knockout! Outstanding cards!

kkkkandp 12-05-2012 02:13 PM

Love the Cleveland, Matt!

That's a pose I would love to have someday! :D

Thanks Matt. Those are two of my favorite cards. When I first saw that Jordan card, I had to have it.

I like how you put Cook, Rooks and Crooks in the same picture. I pictured the scene from Electric Company where they say the words back and forth Cook-Rooks-Crooks

Refusing to let this thread die! Here are two Pittsburgh players you don't see too often and two cards of Monk Cline, who I just decided the other day to try to get all five poses of since I had two nice ones already

Baltimore's manager, "Bald" Billy Barnie - an apt nickname for sure...

One more post for today. Back when the law firm of Miller, Masson and Gonsowski asked me to help out with the Old Judge book, among other things, I took on the task of researching the bios. One particular player, who wasn't in my group, remained a mystery until near the end. So I spent a week trying to figure out if there really was a Whiteacre, or was it Pat Whitaker spelled wrong, like it had been suggested for many years. The name "Whiteacre was listed on the Reserve List for the Philadelphia Athletics over the Winter of 1887-88, but no player with that name ever played minor/major league ball. After searching daily for hours a day, I finally stumbled upon an obscure book about the town of Kennett Square, Pa with an 1886 team photo of the town's amateur team and in the corner was a match, a man named Harry Whiteacre! This card may only be a psa1, but it is one of my favorite cards because 120 years later, he finally had a name and wasn't misidentified as someone else from the set anymore.

Matthew H 12-07-2012 11:17 AM

Chris, great Barnie.

John, thats interesting... Whiteacre has to be one of the sneaky tough, right?

About Monk Cline, I had a similar thing happen to me when I realized I had three Black Jack Burdock poses, I was looking for the last two... Until one day I had a lapse of judgement and sold my portrait card of him. I miss that card, oh well, live and learn. At least I know where it is. :)

You don't see him too often, but he isn't impossible. Joe's Vintage has a real nice one on their site I wouldn't mind getting, I just mind paying that much for it :)

Matthew H 12-07-2012 11:51 AM

That is a nice card,,, pricy :)

Look at Mr OJ-NJ showing off again! Breaking out the Henry and Daniels, excellent cards! Didn't know you had either of those. Where is the jealous emoticon when you need it...

oldjudge 12-08-2012 10:40 AM

Wow Kevin, some really scarce cards. Mr OJ-NJ for sure.

Jeff--Midget never looked better

Matthew H 12-08-2012 10:44 AM

+1, jealous emoticon! I want a John Ewing too.

kkkkandp 12-08-2012 12:20 PM

Thank You, Gents!

I could not have gotten as far as I have collecting OJs without the great trades and buys from Net 54 members, many of whom have posted in this thread. One more example of why this site is one of the best things in this hobby!

As for being Mr. OJ NJ, I don't know about that. You've got me on quantity, John, and I cannot brag about having more Larry Corcorans than anyone else in the world! :)

z28jd 12-08-2012 01:27 PM

Hey I tried to trade with you yesterday! What about all the great trades that didn't happen with board members? I can't even give away my Cod Myers to you so it just shows that my cards aren't good enough for the OJ-NJ collection. BTW, why doesn't SGC put that on your labels when you submit them? Might boost the value in the future. :)

PS Leave the Corcoran collection alone, they have done nothing bad to you
