Picked up this photo of The Babe last night. I love it. He's signing bats while in the military for other soldiers stationed around the country. The tags on the bats have the names of different bases on them.

The best part about the photo though is that it was taken on July 22, 1926. Exactly 59 years to the day before I was born.

Great image on the sheet music Brock.

I just picked up this Ed Ruelbach Type I photo. It is a Carl Horner photo that was used on Ruelbach's T204 Ramly, 1906 Fan Craze and Colgan Chip issues.
Alot cheaper than the Honus Wagner's Horner image at Legendary!

Scooter teaches you how to play shortstop:)

Yes it does, Scott, but I am afraid of damaging the graphics on the bottle by trying to wash it out.

Also picked up this nifty 1968 FB box:

That is great! It would be interesting to compare Rizzuto's thoughts to those of a current shortstop like Brendan Ryan.

Here's a book I've had for a while, but just now took a pic of: Spalding's 1885 'Art of Base Ball Fielding'. I plan to copy all the pages and make them available, but scanning is impossible without damaging the book. The cool part is that it's clearly based on the professional game's fielding, which at the time did not involve gloves.

So, I was able to work out a deal with Shawn to buy this picture All I can tell you is that this picture, frame, etc. is STUNNING!!! I contacted Shawn after he listed it for sale on the B/S/T and we negotiated and called each other several times and had a great time talking collectibles to Shawn. Let me tell you one thing, Shawn England is a CLASS ACT 100%!! After we spoke and the picture was listed on ebay, we agreed on a price and it arrived at my home yesterday. The clarity of this picture is AMAZING and I am glad to have it as part of my collection!!

Again, let me reiterate, it is my opinion that this is the original frame as it is waaaaaaaay old with nails holding it in and all. Also, it is my belief the frame is period, and I thought about re-framing it, but then when I cleaned the glass and put it back in, I said "NO WAY!!" I am hanging it on the wall as is.

Thanks again Shawn, for an awesome transaction, and can't wait until we speak again!

Here is a picture after I received it and cleaned the glass and frame up a bit.

Wait Wait Wait.... Somehow this got turned around - It is Greg who is a CLASS ACT 100% - I do not no where the confusion came from but I have now set the record straight! :) Thank you for the kind words though. Getting to know people like Greg (even just a little) is what makes this hobby so much fun. I appreciate your patience and enjoyed our conversations - In the end everyone is happy, what more could you ask for.

Hey Greg, I am glad you decided to stay with the original frame - put a smile on my face....

Thanks again,
Shawn

The best thing about these programs was the price. I got them for free from a vendor because the package was slow in getting to the Post Office. I actually got two of the 1947 PCL programs, same cover, different weeks.

You really have to love the Camel ad on the back of the 1950 Cal/Penn program. How times have changed:)
