I have no desire to ever speak with you. You are the one with secrets and have stated that you have information that would benefit the knowledge of the board.
I have no secrets and would be willing to learn from your vast knowledge. Rawn |
If I ever get rich, I'll be sure to call a different financial planner than you. Doubtful that it will happen, but just putting it out there that there is a big difference between a bean counter and a REAL lawyer.
Rawn |
Look you call out a very respected member of our hobby and want to threaten me?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rawn, I dont have a problem with you but now you're crossing a line past the boundaries of the board and into personal shit. Leon and I have an agreement in place that this will not be tolerated for me, or anyone else on the board. Only a weirdo starts posting personal information and I would appreciate it if you refrained from doing this. Thanks. |

So what we talking about previously? :D

Isn't "somebody" running out of hooks yet?
|
Just hooked and now reeling him in. As you know Leon, I have little patience for fakes.
Whatever your name is this week or hour try me, I'll play. I will take that as a sign that we will not be hearing your garbage anymore. Rawn |
I read this entire thread and I just have one question...
WHAT? |

Put each other on block, that is the easiest solution if you want to stop reading annoying member posts. Works wonders!
btw Rawn - I vacationed in Bar Harbor, Maine last year and loved it. Beautiful place. |
Well, I have no problems being here in the great state of Maine. Any of the honest members of the forum are more than welcome to stay at my place for a vacation visit. I do take exception to people that tell half of the truth and outright lie to the board. As you can see, I hide from no one. Funny how the board jumps all over an auction house or seller and let's a liar and fraud off without so much as a smack behind the ear.
Lawyer.....No. Financial Planner Jake....No. Bill Bill......No. Will I have a secret.....No. I just make inuendoes Rawn in Maine |
Innuendos are easy to make, that is why we are seeing them so much in the last few days.
|
Yes they are and they should stop. Many of us here have had them brought up against them and I find them to be made by cowards behind keyboards.
Rawn |
Went to summer camp in Casco, Maine; vacationed one college summer in Waterville, Me; and spent part of my honeymoon at the Captain Lord's Mansion in Kennebunkport. Maine is one of my favorite places!
|
Never made it up to Maine although I would love to see...I hear it's an absolutely beautiful place to vacation.
|
Barry, I grew up in Harrison, just north of Casco. You must have been on Sebago Lake.
Come on up to Maine, I have no idea where the key is to my front door, low crime rate, decent weather for 3 months, you can drink from the lakes and streams and get directions to the best seafood places around. Moose in the road and mosquitoes large enough to carry away small children are a bit of a detraction though. Rawn |
Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are just stunning.
Went on a great whale watch and two other boating trips (lighthouse viewing and a nature boat trip). The area is clean, friendly and has good restaurants. |

Not gonna lie...After reading that, I am pretty jealous sitting here in the great state of Indiana... |
Most are very friendly here if you get out of what we call "Northern Mass" which refers to the southern part of the state. More often than not, you will be invited to someone's home for a dinner and a few beers if you strike up a chat at a local establishment.
Pick some wild blueberries or blackberries, feel really great about your dental health and try to figure out our accents. Now that's the impression I get from the tourists. Rawn |
Have dealt with Will/Bill Row.ett in the past with only good results..........Just FYI.........

Let me guess.......Jake, bill, Will, is actually Henry? This is all making my head spin and I usually like that feeling.

Jake-Bill-Will is actually Ron Dross' ghost?? :). |
I am confused as to why so much secrecy...and this all began with the accusation of shill bidding in the Yee auctions..correct?

Just wanted to add my 2 cents to this discussion. I have known Henry for a long time and have followed his auctions since the beginning. All of my interactions with Henry have been extremely pleasant and very informative. His knowledge about vintage photos is second to none and he has always been receptive to any of my questions regarding such. Of all of the dealers, auction houses, etc. that I have dealt with the past 20 years or so, I would easily place Henry in the top 1% for courtesy, honesty knowledge and professional behavior. In addition to all of the previous excellent points explained by others in this thread as to why his auctions do so well, I would simply add that Henry's auctions have filled a much needed gap in the hobby. Rather than endlessly fishing for items on Ebay or being priced out of the major auction houses, for the last decade or so, Henry has provided quality items that would never appear in REA, Legendary, Heritage or Lelands, starting at 99 cents all at one site with excellent descriptions and remarkable photo documentation. In my opinion, he fully deserves all of the success he has worked so hard to achieve. Craig |
Very well said Craig and a beer raised to our leader Leon. A special thx to the fellow forum guys that supported my view in the last couple of days, awesome forum. Looking forward to Henry's next showing.

I am going to be spending the better part of a week in Kennebunkport later this summer. Any must-see places to visit? Any restaurants that are not to be missed?
|
I don't spend much time in "Northern Mass" but can ask a few of the locals for you. Let me know when and we can meet up for a beer.
Rawn |
Chris- check out Captain Lord Mansion, a wonderful bed and breakfast inn, even if you don't stay there. It's one of the nicest I've ever seen ( and I was last there in 1985).

We rent a house on the water up there every year. Fantastic place. Can't beat Kayaking with the Harbor Seals and Porpoises. Made a dumb mistake last year climbing up "The Precipice" in Acadia in 100 degree and humid weather. That was a brutal day for me. |

Chris- even if you just walk in and look around, or maybe make time for a lunch, you will enjoy. It's a really beautiful place. Let us know if you go.
|
If anyone heads to Bar Harbor and Acadia Natl Park be sure to go to the restaurant in Acadia, it is called Jordan Pond. Be sure to order the pop overs.
Dave Bergin - you ever try this? |
Quote:
You mean The Tea House at Jordan Pond I think. Ended up there several times on our bikes. Don't think I've ever had the Pop Overs though. Will check them out when we're up there next month. |
The restaurant is called Jordan Pond House, the only restaurant in the park.
Good food and the popovers are the real treat. |
+1 on the popovers - they're to die for!!!

It's officially tourist season on the forum.

We will be back at some point in time, too beautiful a place to not see twice. |

We've been up there about 6 or 7 times now. Our goal is to hit every hiking trail on the two main sections of the park at one point or another. I figure about 10 more trips and we'll be about halfway there. :D |
Quite a turn this thread has taken :).
Kudos to Maine and kudos to Henry Yee, I was not a buyer in this auction but my consignments did very well. |
