I thank everyone for their very kind comments. I have learned much from everyone on this board and Bill Latzko, in particular, has mentored me and helped me acquire many of the items. I will try to find out who designed and built the display and post the information Unfortunately, the person I hired passed away, but I believe he contracted it out. I have removed the bottom row of most valuable cards and put them in a safe deposit box but will return them for special occasions. I could not take a chance leaving them there even though the case also has a sophisticated alarm and 24/7 video monitoring. I do plan to have a vintage baseball museum in Rochester, Michigan at some point so everyone can enjoy the wonder of baseball and vintage cards. I have other vintage baseball collections and, at some point, I will show those as well.
Thanks again everyone! Powell |
and seeing it in person.....

Powell, Being from Indiana I'm close to you. So if you ever open a museum, count on me forking out the admission price to get in! Thanks for showing us! Anyone know what UV glass like that would cost? Thanks, Tim Kindler |
Is all non glare glass treated with UV protection as well???

Can I be you?

Absolutely amazing! Very well done!
I am curious about what backs you have (not that it matters), just curious, what backs do you have an example of? All or most of them I suspect. |
Dad?
Powell or should I say, Dad...
Do you remember that night in 1972 at the bar of the Holiday Inn in Poughkeepsie... That girl was my mom and you are my father. I love you so please put me in the will.... today. No need for a DNA test - really... It's obvious we are related because we both collect baseball cards. You own a T206 Honus... I once saw a picture of one on the internet. |
Congratulations sir, you win. :)

Tony, your mom (??) on the other hand, had one (or two) too many that night in 1972. They only recently were able to reopen the room where she passed out on the floor:eek::eek::eek:. How do I know? I read the review of the next guest in that room, "There was no elevator and no one even offered to help us to our room on the 2nd floor with our bags. It was like they closed the doors in 1972 and reopened yesterday. Acoustic ceiling tiles, mold and basic disrepair. The lack of fire sprinklers in the rooms was alarming. The linens were clean and the bartender was nice." With clean linens and a nice bartender:), it seems more likely that the barkeep is actually your father. The name of the bartender in 1972 was in fact, Dick Davis. Touche:D. I fully admit that my marriage to the Powell clan was not consummated, but your claim, Tony, has more holes in it than all the cheese in Switzerland. Stop your wailing at the wall of Powell. Neither of us has a leg to stand on. |
Powell...Awesome Wall!!!!!!!!

Frank - Isn't Powell's Monster Number 1000 since he stated he completed the set? I recall his posting from last year when he landed the Doyle card. |
I don't enjoy watching the Barrett Jackson classic car auction because it is just too depressing!
Thanks for posting pics of your fabulous collections. You just made my depressed morning! 😊 |
