Unfortunately, you need a new scanner. Per Chris Browne (and others) who helped me in the thread below, you need one with the CCD scanning element. I can tell you from my own trial-and-error that this is imperative. Thanks to the very helpful board members who gave advice in this thread: Scanner Discussion thread |

Thanks Scott, the McGraw has Oct. 2 1911 stamped on the otherwise flawless back. I think these came from the REA auction in May. The McCauley is a beauty front and back.

I concur with Frank above...that's a great looking Honey Boy Heilmann card, Will!
Of course these threads are always a highlight of this board for me...each month a new museum is created!!! For my offering, I added what is way near the top of my favorite cards list. Thanks to Eric (cozmo) for the superb transaction. T216 Bender w/Kotton back. |

I continue to pick up random T205's that catch my fancy...I can't say with certainty that I'm putting a set together but it certainly is beginning to look that way...

I have never owned a Dimaggio card; however, I believe I did once own the Burke photo that was the basis for your card. |

Thank you to a fellow board member. PSA qualifiers don't bother me especially on these 2.
Out at Third and Baker |
Not prewar but pretty cool find.
I am selling about 1/2 of my dads 52 topps set to fund a summer project for him. While researching prices i come across this current Memory Lane auction. http://www.memorylaneinc.com/site/bi...etauctionid=93 Black star overprint what? Sure enough dad had one....almost sold it for $45. http://i.imgur.com/Gd5i6.jpg |
Nice find Chris, that's an expensive star.

A couple big pickups from some great members!
1st off I'd like to give a Big Thank You to Dan P for meeting with me this past Sat. so I can re-acquire this Cobb r.c and also for putting this card up for auction because ever since I sold it to him a couple years ago I've had seller's remorse, I Very Happy to have it back!:
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...yCobbSGC10.jpg also, I'd like to thank Phil for selling this to me as its a nice upgrade from the faded one I have: http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...Issue2BVG6.jpg other pickups from ebay: http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...elBabeRuth.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...myMcCarthy.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...ePudGalvin.jpg -Dan |

Thank you to a board member for answering my want ad on the BST. So thrilled to land this one! I still need the other three T206 Cobbs. If anybody has anything similar to this one, please feel free to contact me! Best, Andy
|
Very nice, Andy! Such a classic image...
|
Andy, that's a G-REAT 1st Cobb! I only have a red portrait and 'bat off' available, both in SGC 30 holders, and neither anywhere near as nice as yours. But if interested in either, PM me.

Very nice, Scott! One of the coolest portraits in the hobby, that Cobb.
I might have a new card to post for the next "favorite card" thread. Fittingly presented against a backdrop of Yankee pinstripes... :D |
Thanks, Chuck. And that's my favorite Ruth card - beautiful example.

My first post from my collection
I just received these two cards. These are my first old judge cards and I am very pleased.
http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/...lyOldJudge.jpg Kelly Front http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/...dJudgeBack.jpg Kelly Back http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/...nsOldJudge.jpg Harkins Front http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/...dJudgeBack.jpg Harkins Back I am really excited about these. I don't think I could want a better two first Old Judge Cards. Though I am still waiting on the very best December "Pickup". As my wife is due to go into labor any day. So these cards will very quickly be overshadowed. |
Thank you Mr. Carter!
|
Nice looking Greenberg! A Carter slab to top it off.
- love the website too - amazing... |
Chuck,
Great Ruth! Rusty, That Greenberg is sweet! JimB |
Mark, awesome Greenberg. I was the underbidder for a few of the 36 Goudey auctions. Managed to snag a couple:
