With $3k on line i am very close to traveling

I am going to let ebay hopefully get this resolved as the case is still open but If for some reason this scumbag does beat the system I will definitely make travel arrangements and find this guy. I have no problem spending a little more money to get justice if I am already going to have to take such a loss.

If you decide to take the trip, let me know. I have all kinds of information that will help you track down this scammer - previous addresses in Newport, relatives addresses, etc.

Not sure if this was mentioned....but if you paid with a credit card through paypal (which is the primary way that I buy things)....the resolution is SUPER EASY. Just call your CC company and contest the charge...you will almost certainly get your $$ back.

I am willing to bet all of us would chip in and create a fund to pay your travel expenses. Like I mentioned earlier, his address in only an hour from my location.

Hopefully if ebay doesn't help you out, your credit card company will.

If a seller leaves a positive like this, you can get Ebay to remove it. It violates the TOS to leave false positives.

Got resoution with eBay

EBay contacted me and decided in my favor:). After a couple of stressful weeks I finally have closure and Ebay is refunding my money. Logic does prevail and I just wanted to let everyone know the system does work for the most part and I truly wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who sent me messages with advice and I really wanted to say THANK YOU to Ted who took time to speak to Ebay on my behalf.

Thanks so much Ted for taking time out of your day to help me out.

Awesome...glad you are getting your money back but did ebay boot the seller yet or are they going to let him do this to other people?

One thing I always notice is when a scammer has been called out, they always reply with unprofessional responses. Swearing, calling the other person a liar and a scumbag, etc. They always make themselves look even worse, not helping their side of it at all. If this was truly an honest seller and there was something fishy going on with the buyer, or if the package was compromised during transit, an honest professional would respond with facts and not attack the other person. They make themselves look guilty before you even have to start proving it.

Congrats on getting this resolved in your favor OP.
