And here's another shortprinted T205. This was an eBay BIN I was looking at for a couple of days before I realized it was one of the tougher Piedmont Factory 42 backs. I must say, the card presents a lot nicer in hand than in the scan. In hand the crease is noticable in the gold borders, not so much across the face as the scan shows.

Very excited about this pickup. Definately the cornerstone of my collection.
P.S. Any info on this player would be greatly appreciated. I beleive his name is Clem Kimerer. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...erer-Front.jpghttp://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...merer-Back.jpg |
I just won this off ebay and am super happy about this one. I had to spend a little bit of my termite money, but figured since I have been trying to pry one of these away from a pair of Board memeber for closing in on two years, with no luck, I better buy it while I have the chance. Frank and David, I will stop the every 6 month offers now for yours!!
I am down to only needing the American Beauty from the confirmed list. Let me know if you have one in any condition, please. Jason, thanks for the compliment! I really like it myself. |
Britt - great item. You may want to pass this Kimmerer/Kimerer info on to bb reference - it's the kind of thing they like to know about and fix.

Picked up these cards to my growing E93 collection (thanks shammus and tbob!). I think I'm going to have to send the Plank back to PSA for a reholder, however.

T206 E. Collins, no name!
This card does look to be short, but how far is the farthest that you all have seen the name below the pic on these cards? Take a look at the backs scan as all of the factory info is included. This is one funny looking card to me.
I need the AB Collins!!!! Thanks to all, Bob <a href="http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/Eddie%20Collins%20cards/?action=view¤t=T206Collinsnonamefront.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/Eddie%20Collins%20cards/T206Collinsnonamefront.jpg" border="0" alt="T206 Collins no name back"></a><a href="http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/Eddie%20Collins%20cards/?action=view¤t=T206Collinsnonameback.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/Eddie%20Collins%20cards/T206Collinsnonameback.jpg" border="0" alt="T206 Collins no name back"></a> |

Congrats Dynarl, glad to see you complete an interesting T206 subset.
I was able to pick-up a nice American Eagle Tobacco Co. (Detroit based) baseball themed trade card this month after a couple year search. Thanks to Bruce Babcock for some early help confirming this was the real deal. I hope to further research the content to determine year of issue but currently believe it dates to early to mid 1880s. I also included the 2008 stamp that was based off this vintage image. |
A Few Upgrades
Recent upgrades including the rare N28 Caruthers "Alfalfa" variation. ;)

Here's are 1915 Composites of the two Pittsburgh BB Clubs, National & Federal Leagues. Specially note the inclusion of Dazzy Vance on the NL squad as he only pitched one game (2.2 innings) ever for the Pirates and it was his ML debut.

Great pick-ups !!!
Phil, love those Pitts NL/FL ................. some great looking "mugs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" * * Correct use of punctuatuion:confused::p |
Dazzy -1915
Phil,
I love that composite...but what's up with Dazzy Vance's photo? He should have been just 24 years old, and he looks like a grandpa already!!! Although he pitched for 20 more years, Ol Daz looks like he's ready to retire after those 8 batters he faced in '15. ;) |
