Craig,
Wow! I have never even heard of that back before. JimB |
Jim,
The front is rarer than the back :) |
Hey FUBAR (Jim) you are thinking of Kurt Bevacqua!
Here are a few of my favorite commons... http://www.starsofthediamond.com/11zeehalla.JPG http://www.starsofthediamond.com/13zeemccarl.JPG http://www.starsofthediamond.com/14zeecartwright.JPG Although my favorite common is still probably the D380-1 Osborn leaping card -Rhett |

I knew him when I was a kid. Quite a pitcher for those Boston Red Sox.

Uncommon common T206's............

I always get a kick out of the look of pure joy on the face of Fred Burchell. T206's have predominately dour visages. I wonder why John Titus persisted in having a handlebar mustache long after it was in vogue......I've read where he was a bit eccentric. Perhaps that explains it.

Cotton top Terry Turner as a baby. Credited with crafting the head-first slide. In that outfit I can see why.

After retirement he grew his hair long and performed as the lead singer for a band called "THE MONKEYS"...

Jeff
This is one of my favorite commons. Love the end of swing and the happy face. Like he just hit a liner over second base, 9th inning, 2 outs, and a no hitter on the line. END OF THE NO HITTER. |
Should have played for the Naps . . .

A Common Southern Leaguer :

What I like about this issue is it is Good Ole Roy Ellam, but not from the T206 variety, and perhaps a one of a kind mini photo card. At the very least it is very rare item. I also like the crisp look at the outfield fence, the notation of "Captain & Shortstop."

I've always liked the Cracker Jack Horizontals.
