$50 REWARD for finding any BROAD LEAF 460 "No-Print" cards
https://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan...eaf460back.jpg
I have increased the reward to $50 for anyone finding any of the listed 28 subjects that I consider BL 460 No-Prints. I welcome any verifiable inputs that will prove me wrong.......and, a U.S. Grant greenback is yours for each new input. The following 28 cards are deemed as BL 460 No-Prints Berger Bradley (bat) Burch (fielding) Cobb (bat off) Conroy (bat) Crawford (bat) Jennings (one hand) Jennings (two hands) Jordan (bat) Lajoie (bat) Lake (no ball) Leach (cap) Leifield (bat) Manning (pitching) McQuillan (bat) Mullin (bat) Overall (yellow sky) Pelty (vertical) Pfeister (throwing) Smith (Chicago & Boston) Steinfeldt (bat) Tinker (bat off) Wagner (bat on right) Doc White (pitching) Willetts Willis (bat) Wilhelm (bat) Wiltse (pitching) Thanks for your responses, TED Z |
Ted, PM me if that particular card is for sale.:D
|
If I owned one of the "no-prints" and didn't want to come forward for $40, would a $10 difference really matter? Can we just let the price bumping go at this point? It is becoming an exercise in comedy more than production.....
|
As I have previously said, I don't do PM's....and, I don't accept PM's. I have posted my email address numerous times.
Incidently, what card are you referring to ? TED Z |
Ted, I think Chicago is referring to the BL460 card you have a scan of with your post...and I think he was asking that you PM him. Even if you don't accept PMs, I think you can still send them.

John,
Are you calling me the gander? :) I really just posted so that Ted will bump to $10k and I can show you my secret cards... |

Sorry, my Plank is on the back, the BL460 is on the front....can't flip it over!

Hey Wonka......
Looks like a Blazing Saddles pix of Gene Wilder that you have there.....1974, a good year for movies......
American Graffiti, The Sting, etc. All around great cast in Blazing Saddles....my favorites in this parody were Alex Karras and Madeline Kahn. TED Z |
Hedley Lamarr finding the golden ticket is cinematic history.
|
Blazing Saddles isn't even the best Gene Wilder movie of 1974....Young Frankenstein! Don't forget that 1974 also saw the best of the Godfather movies (part 2) and my personal favorite Bond film (and video game) Man with the Golden Gun.

Lili Von Shtupp (Madeline Kahn) quotes were classic.
And, don't forget Alex Karras'......"Mongo only pawn....in game of life" Speaking about Karras......TRIVIA ? ...... He nearly achieved something no other Tackle has ever....what is it ? TED Z |
"Karras nearly achieved something no other Tackle has ever....what is it ?"
I'll take a shot at it, Ted. He was runner up for the Heisman Trophy. Or, he was almost related to you since you both have Greek names :D Best Regards, Craig |
I agree that Wilder's performance was better in Saddles, but as far as the movies themselves go, Marty Feldman's performance in Young Frank made all the difference for me. We should start a poll on which movie is better. Maybe I'm in the minority...
|
Craig
Your answer......"I'll take a shot at it, Ted. He was runner up for the Heisman Trophy." Bulls-eye......good shooting. TED Z |
Blazing Saddles
Blazing Saddles is one of the best comedic movies of all times, imo. One of my favorites.
|
We should start a poll, Leon, but make sure that there is some age factor in there as well, as my generation (the 30's) considers Young Frankenstein a cult classic while Blazing Saddles....not so much. At least that has been my experience over here on the Left Coast.
|
OK, let's not forget the T206 subjects that have a good probability of being found with
BROAD LEAF 460 backs...... Bender (no trees) Chance (portrait-yellow) Chase (blue) Chase (dark cap) Donlin (bat) Doyle (bat) Magee (bat) I'm not paying any reward for finding any of these 7 cards, since my research tells me that they should exist. TED Z |
Ted
can't stess it enough-this is huge for this set. There will always be a rule breaker but this makes it very clear what players can and can not be found with Broad Leaf 460. Getting closer all the time to a master checklist.
It is nice to make this kind of progress on a century old set. BL 460s are cards from the 350/460 series -just like the apple green Sovereign-interesting...:D |
Thanks Jim
It would be really great if we could verify these remaining 7 cards with BROAD LEAF 460 backs.
All seven of them have been confirmed with the Red HINDU back. Therefore, we would have a complete run of the BROAD LEAF 460 / Red HINDU "matched pairs". Bender (no trees) Chance (portrait-yellow) Chase (blue) Chase (dark cap) Donlin (bat) Doyle (bat) Magee (bat) Keep searching ole buddy....you, and Brian W, and Art M are indeed the T206 "T-brand Kings" :) TED Z |

No matter the condition, BL460s are the most beautiful back brand to me....
|
Sort of on point... Broadleaf is one of the MOST difficult cigarette packs to find. I have only seen one that dated to 1910, and about 5 in total dating to any time frame (they were made up until 1915 or so).

Jon C......
Your......"Broadleaf is one of the MOST difficult cigarette packs to find."
Raises an interesting point. Can you please rank the various T206 related packs as a function of their scarcity ? And, does their scarcity ranking match their T206 card's scarcity ? Thanks, TED Z |
Ted - for the most part, scarcity of the packs follow scarcity of the backs...
Impossible Drum Hindu Broadleaf Uzit Lenox Scarce American Beauty Tolstoi Carolina Brights Old Mill Cycle Difficult Polar Bear EPDG Easier Sovereign Easy SC Piedmont |
Jon C
Not too surprising that the T-brand packs and T206 backs track together.
Thanks very much Jon, TED Z |
packs
Jon, ole friend,
i'm sitting here admiring my T206 packs: AB,Tolstoi,OM, PB,EPDG,SC, Pied, and even a drum pouch---but no EASIER Sovereign. are you sure the old sovereign(with a T206 era date) is EASIER? I'm sure lovin' the unopened Polar Bear--thanks again. great thread, as always Ted et al best, barry |
$50 REWARD for finding any BROAD LEAF 460 "No-Print" cards
OK, I'm still looking for these T206 subjects that have a good probability of being found
with BROAD LEAF 460 backs...... Ames (hands over head) Bender (no trees) Chance (portrait-yellow) Chase (blue) Chase (dark cap) Donlin (bat) Doyle (bat) Magee (bat) I am not paying any reward for finding any of these 7 cards, since my research tells me that they should exist. TED Z |
Barry A......
Very interesting T206 T-brand pack collection. Next to Jon's collection, your's is quite impressive.
I, too, would like to have a SOVEREIGN pack to complement my all-SOVEREIGN T206 set. TED Z |

Hi Barry and Ted,
Here's a Sovereign full pack with 1910 stamp and 10 cigs. It is Factory 30, though. I might trade if you have something unusual to offer. I've also added a scan of a display carton from my collection. Ron R |
Ron
great pieces.
Ted, i'll give you first dibs (is that still a word?!). I don't really have anything unusual to part with (i never have dupes) and i'm betting you do. all the best, barry |
Barry A and Ron R
Thanks, but I'll pass on these....since I'm looking for a Factory #25 Sovereign pack.
So, it's your choice, Barry. Thanks again guys, TED Z |
