Thanks for the kudos on my project. Actually thought about having you paint the boys, but since I already have pictures of them I decided against it. I saw your work before the National and considered getting one. I did see them at the National as well and I must say you are quite talented. Keep up the great work. I am sure many collectors will be proud to display your work. I may as well someday. JW |
Wow Al ! Fabulous pins indeed.

My compliments, Streetsideguy, on your foresight and exceptional execution...that will be a treasure for you kids will never forget.
I didn't have a baseball uniform for my son when he was little, but fortunately he fit nicely into the toy suit of armor that his old man wore back in 1960 when defending the neighborhood against countless dragon attacks. Since this is a baseball board, let's just "Natural-ly" classify this under "New York Knights" memorabilia... http://s915.photobucket.com/albums/a...x/SirRoger.jpg (My most sincere apologies to the Board. I just couldn't help myself.) |

Koufax
Ok so this isn't Brooklyn exactly.
Sandy Koufax pitching during 1986 Cracker Jack Old timers Game. I took this photo from the field level. I had a press pass that day. I also took home his uniform pants from that game. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...Lou/koufax.jpg |
Great piece TopCat! I've always wanted one of those.

Here are a few of my Bell Brand Dodgers - still in their cellophanes. And while I'm sure there are other wrong back Bells out there, this is the only one I've run into in all my years of collecting. A Wally front and a Tommy back.

From a day at Dodgers Stadium a few years ago
A charity win that my brother in law had and he invited me to go along since I am the baseball maven in the family. That's me with Manny Mota, me with Don Newcombe and a 1961 Union Oil booklet that Vin Scully autographed for me. Newk also signed several cards for me and made a video greeting for my father, who was a Brooklyn Dodgers fanatic.

I have to find it but I have a stub of a three way round robin exhibition game between the dodgers, giants and yankees. If I can find it i will post it but don't remember ever seeing another one. Has anyone else seen one or have any idea if it has value (condition is only fair).

I've seen the scorecard for the three way game, but don't recall seeing a ticket stub.

Roy
1 Attachment(s)
From an Oct 1989 signing in Los Angeles. I had always heard that Roy had to use a machine to help him autograph after his accident, and that there was great debate if that was a legit autograph or "autopen". I'm not sure if that was really the case early on but I'm here to tell you that the device used when signing this was a brace not a machine. Roy was then able to move his fingers while the heal of his hand stayed in place without shaking. This is why the Roy always looks pretty good but the Campanella starts to look a little gabled as he stretches the reach of his fingers. Also glad I got this on a 16x20.
