Yeah, hardly something anyone would think of as a "record."

Good lord. Sore losers indeed.

The Dolphins happen to be the only modern NFL team with a perfect record through and including the Super Bowl.

For a second team to repeat this feat they would have to go 19-0 due to schedule expansion, but that’s not my fault.

I would maintain counselor that a perfect record through the playoffs is worthy of “record” recognition, especially since it has not been duplicated by your fat Pats or any other squad.

If you groan Cliff, you wiil simply be feeding Peter’s ego which is already quite healthy.:D

Woof.
What's a record is being unbeaten, which could happen again, not doing it in the fewest games.
So there.

Mid-thread poll (can one be started???)

Just say yes if the Dolphins 17-0 Super Bowl season is a record.

just say no if you agree with Peter.

I say yes. The yeses lead 1-0.

Not as exciting as I hoped it would be.

I'd say yes in that they're the only undefeated champion in NFL history, at least in the Super Bowl Era. Finishing a season without a loss is one of the most impressive team records in all of professional sports.

But had the Patriots beat the Giants that year I doubt many would consider the fact that the Dolphins went undefeated with 17 wins vs 19 for the Patriots would be worthy of being considered a separate record. There would have been 2 undefeated champions in the Super Bowl era and if anything the Patriots season would probably have been viewed as more impressive given increased competition, free agency, salary cap, etc.

The answer did not match the clues, IMO. Weakness. :)

The contestants did not rise to the level of the question.

Kicking balls into the end zone from the 40 yard line.

My Giants 6-0 preseason record received partial credit.

Indeed, Jeff.

My apologies for only recognizing your effort privately.;)

To do so publicly would have been too much of a hint.

No team will ever over come the 28-3 deficit in a Super Bowl with a just over a quarter to play.

I believe the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history before that one was from a 10 point deficit. I doubt we will ever see another Super Bowl like that one, but you never know.
