Only pre-war card I own is the W516-2-1 I bought raw in Cooperstown a couple years ago. I spent about $125 on it even though it's ripped up at the top. Luke Keeler was helpful enough to send it in to PSA for grading :D

The ticket I have pictured my dad got me when I was about 16. Ticket dates July 1, 1922. The White Sox won that game 7-3

Mr. Cobb went 1-4 with a walk and a strikeout against Red Faber. Also playing for the Sox were HOF'ers Harry Hooper, Ray Schalk Cocky Eddie Collins. A total of 5 HOF players took the field that day !!!!

Alas the White Whales Cobb T206 have eluded me and been too rich for my blood :(

Some day I will become triumphant and own at least one and then another day I'll own them all :D

And, here I thought I had purchased an inexpensive SWEET CAP red Cobb....but, upon opening up the mailed package it was not so. PSA goofed again !

Very poor...

...but pretty darn rare.

There aren't many Type2 York Ty Cobb's floating about, so I had to grab this one despite some minor flaws;)

I think I know of two others, that's it.

Very cool Cobbs you guys, very awesome thread, should have threads like this for other baseball juggernauts.

This has to be the Cobb that was most loved ever by some little boy long ago. It must have gone everywhere with him. At least that is how I imagine it.

None of mine are all that pretty, but hey, Cobb was not a pretty player. He played rough, just like my cards! Some of my favorites.

1907 Dietsche Fielding Pose Cobb (PSA 5); 1907 Wolverine News Cobb portrait (poor to fair); and 1907 Dietsche batting pose Cobb, PSA 4.5 (due to light stain on the back--otherwise ExMt or better--time to see Dick Towle?). Sorry, no scanner yet--have been buying cards instead!

Highest regards,

Larry

Larry, I don't need to tell you but that is a very highly graded card for that pose.

Here is an unusual Ty Cobb item.

It is a heavier Ty Cobb Cutout. 37" x 21" x 1/4" thick.

Anyone ever seen one it before?

I had it framed.

Yes, but it is not as good as your Ex. Mine, although having square corners, has some relatively minor chipping around the edges. I would consider it a low "Ex" over all.

Thanks Jeff,

Larry

Dan, super nice cards. You might already know this, but that W512 Cobb is mis-labeled by PSA. It should be a 1925-31 W590 Cobb.

Thank You Gary. For the w590, I won it for what I consider to be a pretty good price thanks to the mislabeling. When I saw the auction title I couldn't help but laugh as the W512 looks nothing like the w590!
