Joined and paid via paypal. I don't recall who had won the Chase trophy the year before Brian. They were required to send the card to him. I know the year I won I only got to hold onto the Chase card for about a week because the previous winner lost it and later found it.

The winner is also supposed to run the tournament the following year. I ran it last year because IIRC we couldn't get hold of the previous winner. I'm sure all of this is in the archives somewhere. :D

Is it too late to get in? I have some bold choices for the first few rounds.

I'm not in it, but it strikes me as unfair for people to be allowed to pay late after they've had a chance to collect more information about their chances of winning the prize. I can see waiting until the field of 68 is down to 64, but anything after that is just cheating, no?

Yeah... that's pretty jacked up....

People that didn't have their money in by the start of the tournament should have had their brackets disqualified.

I think the ESPN usernames of the nonpayers should be listed. Sometimes you just forget you hadn't paid yet or registered. I picked Michigan State to win it all but I still paid after they lost in the first round.

As the current leader, I'm really gonna need all you delinquents to go ahead and get your money paid up, mkay?

Unfair yes, anything that can be done about it? No not really, aside from not paying out to said person if they do indeed win.

Everyone was well aware of the amount and the date the contest started. There are those who payed despite not having a chance and I thank those people for that.

Others may have forgot, true, and I can post a list of who all has paid later this evening.

As for those who didn't pay and who don't pay...well as I said earlier, not much we can do.
