I had them primarily as type cards and wasn't particularly attached to either one to the point that I wouldn't release them to a higher calling. I sold them to Jim at my cost and was content in the knowledge that I had helped out a fellow collector. That feeling was validated when Jim posted the link to his ImageEvent Southern League display and I could take pleasure in knowing that I had a small part in that spectacular collection. Fast forward to yesterday, the mail arrives with a registered surprise, contained within this beautiful card, one venerable collector helping out a T206 newbie put together a back collection. Thank you very much, Jim. That was a righteous thing you did.

Thanks Glen for the two cards. I collect Portland cards and these two were especially hard to find. I also was excited about the backstamp on the Butler.

Looking forward to seeing this on the B/S/T next week.

Jeff, I agree; Rob, thanks.

EDITED TO ADD: SOLD, THANKS FOR LOOKING

Jim VB 04-08-2010 02:35 PM

I thought that post #71 meant he was taking offers???

And I thought Prizner bought it in post #73???

Edited to add: Lichtman's a hell of an attorney. He answered before I asked.

Bicem 04-08-2010 02:36 PM

my post was just a shill bid, I actually think that card is gross.

Leon 04-08-2010 02:47 PM

If you shilled I am retracting my bid and canceling my snipe!!

Rob D. 04-08-2010 02:50 PM

By the way, Jeff, good luck in the auction for the Ruth. Hope you end up getting it.

iggyman 04-08-2010 02:51 PM

Calvin, I can offer $100 more then what the sale price was to Prizner Leon Rob.

Rob, I have a '21 Ruth Exhibit for sale. Are you interested? One small detail, it will take me a few weeks to get it to you. Luckily, this is all above board snice it is not happening on the B/S/T board. No chance of being banned. Well.....maybe Calvin might be banned, but if he didn't make any money on it then he is cool.

Lovely Day...

Rob D. 04-08-2010 02:58 PM

Iggy,

I don't appreciate your tone. You've ruined the hobby for me. Heading to the B/S/T to sell my entire collection. At cost.

Thanks a lot.

calvindog 04-08-2010 03:00 PM

Iggy, not a problem, the card is yours! I paid $1500 $2100 I mean $3000 for the card! Paypal, please add 3%.

The Axis of Evil's recent posts are obviously directed toward ME. I wasn't born yesterday. Moderator, please lock this thread. Moderator? Moderator?

Chicago206 04-08-2010 03:56 PM

These posts give me solid confirmation that what im doing is correct. Who would want to hang out in a place with such sophomoric bullies?

wonkaticket 04-08-2010 03:56 PM

I have a list of folks who have cards I need or want..is there somewhere I can post this list? That way you guys can ruin the hobby for them and I can finally get some cards I need at cost. :)

Kawika 04-08-2010 03:57 PM

Just what is it that you're doing?

Sorry, Jim. That joke was already used back in the Archive thread. Don't think that adding an "n" to frequency lets you end run on Intellectual Property Law. I will waive the nominal fee this time as a courtesy to a fellow sophomore.

I can't argue with this position, unfortunately.

Now is it true that there will be a Net 54 (bullies only) dinner at the National?

Jim VB 04-08-2010 04:12 PM

"n" deleted. Thanks for the typing lesson.

Dear Calvin,

Sorry, our deal is off! I've had this auction running now for the past few days and I haven't even gotten a sniffle. Rob is a no-show and it looks like I've broken a few hearts along the way. Thanks but no thanks! Hopefully, you will have better luck when Grand Salami is online.

Lovely Day, Iggy...

Iggy, I specifically asked for a $5000 hidden reserve on that listing. I will have one of my underlings bid on it (after all, they all love 1921 Exhibits) but they will stop right before the ceiling bid put in by an honest bidder. Of course, if one of my associates wins the card I will just send it to the next auction house to sell.
