I noticed the same thing when I saw them put together, but the famous trio should be Tinker to Evers to Chance. The yellow and green are simply out of order!

Centering = Bananas

I know this is seemingly not the splashy pickup, but to me, this is one of my best cards. The thick and dead centered borders on this baby ooze eye appeal, to me. And the image is bright and clean.

Some of the most serendipitous spider wrinkles ever conspire to make this baby a relatively cheap 1.5!

Bear in mind that the left inner ridge of the holder is obscuring but a sliver of the left edge.

I've shopped for this card for some time, and these full even borders just called out to me ;)

Chris, there are no crappy pictures, just crappy cards. The photo is ok, but the cards are the opposite of crappy...nice collecting feat so far!

Koester stamp?

Brian...are you able to make what is stamped on the back of your Koester's Bread card of Alex Ferguson? The scan is pretty light. Is it some sort of redemption offer from the company?

Brian

Brian Van Horn 01-13-2014 02:15 PM

Brian,

Here is what I have been able to decipher from the back of the card:

"Most prominent movie actors and actresses in the country. We have made up an album which will hold the complete (obliterated) On receipt of 15 cents (obliterated) will send a blank album to any address in the United States.

Then on the last line it seems to indicate "Confectionery Company."

I spoke with one member and am in the process of contacting another on this card. The one member indicated an eBay lot which has the exact same wording on the back with the exception of the "confectionery" part.

Here is the link (yes, I bought the other item as well):

Wow

Chris - that's awesome! I think I had about 9 diff. M101-6's in the 90's before I gave up. I just couldn't take not adding to my collection for like 2 years.
Congrats on having nerves of steel!

nolemmings 01-13-2014 03:25 PM

Good job Chris--way to take them out of circulation for the rest of us :(

Tony, I still have the m101-6 Sisler you sold me more than 9 years ago. Should have jumped on the Collins then too:o

That's cool to hear that you still have it. Nice to know it's in a safe place! Post a photo sometime, I'd like to see it again. I don't even remember which ones I had it's so long ago:eek:

the-illini 01-13-2014 08:41 PM

Thanks for the kind words everyone - it can be an excruciating set to try and find examples from. Only good thing about their scarcity is that the droughts keep me from going broke!

Got a 2nd chance on this E90-1 Cobb and pulled the trigger, after having it offered (at same price) about 2 years back. I've never been centering obsessed, which is good for this one... now just hope those 1908 rumors end up being true:D

I already had a T206 Speaker - but for some reason, I always wanted this card with a Polar Bear back.

joeadcock 01-14-2014 02:20 PM

Todd

I think Speaker T206 is one of the best looking cards of this set.

So I get what you say. That is why I also have more than one.

Fun, and way cool. No Ruth for me yet......someday the stars will align!

Iwantmorecards77 01-14-2014 11:50 PM

Thanks, Joe. I really like the T206 Speaker as well. I'm on a tight budget - so I had to sell my other one (PSA 4 - MK) to afford the Polar Bear. Great card.

Todd

I've always like the r309 Ruth as well, one of these days I'm sure I'll pull the trigger on one.
