We are on Crowe Lake in Marmora Ontario and currently in year 16 at this park.
We face the west so we get some pretty nice sunsets quite often, but the downside, occasionally, is when it is windy out as we can get the full brunt of it at times. But, despite that, we still wouldn't trade it for any other spot in the park as once you are on the east side, with no breeze, the heat, and bugs, can be unbearable at times.

Things are definitely different now that my son doesn't come near as often as he once did but with all the friends we have made over the years, we are still finding it enjoyable for the most part.
What we find we miss the most is taking our son, or taking him and his buddies, tubing, knee boarding and water skiing.
We lived for that, so to speak, as it made for great family fun all being together having fun and staying cool.

I noticed in the thread about overrated and underrated sets, a number of people have listed the 1952 Topps set as overrated. I guess you can't make everyone happy which is why they change the card design every year.

Most people dislike what they don't or can't have. The 1952 set is pretty much unattainable for most, unlike other popular sets.

I have the 52 set. It is not my favorite, or even my favorite of the 50s, and agree it’s an expensive set if you are starting it today. . But it is not only an iconic set now, it beat the heck out of Bowman in the market in 1952

The 52 Topps set is the most iconic set ever produced with one of the most sought after iconic cards ever produced.
To each their own, and of course I'm biased, but I think a lot of people forget the importance this set and the cards within brought to the hobby back in 52.

Final bid was $38,747 so $46,496 with the bp and then possibly sales tax. The Mantle was an SGC 1.5 with bad centering T/B (and miscut on the back), and the Robinson was ungraded with a stain, but still seems like a low price in the current market. Maybe things are finally starting to cool down.

That price was anemic, but then someone paid 58,000 in that auction for a '52 PSA 2 Mantle that isn't even centered.

No one ever seems to want to buy complete sets, but to have that much of a discrepancy with how low vs how high those two lots went....wow.

I think you got the price wrong on the PSA 2 Mantle from Huggins and Scott. It went for around $28K (with BP) not $58K, unless there's another one I'm not seeing.

Wow, $30K difference between them. Centering is better for the one in Mile High, but I don't think it's worth that much more. The Huggins & Scott card looks like it has a much cleaner surface.
