Basically, the picture is sideways because you held the camera sideways to take the picture.

I don’t have this problem :D , but it seems like “sideways” works, because I rarely take pictures in portrait mode.

Updated my display so that I could show my game-used / player worn hats. I finally found something that would fit into my display. My shelves are narrow, and I can't display the hats fully open. I found mini helmet displays at hobby lobby, and they fit 7 3/8 hats just barely. Still working on eye appeal, but these hats have been stored for a year now without being displayed. Very pleased. The hat on the left is 2019 Eugenio Suarez, and the hat on the right is 1990 WS Champions Barry Larkin, signed on the bill. I'm hoping Suarez will sign again at Sports Gallery in Cincinnati, and I can send the hat in to be signed as well.

Thanks. I like looking at it and changing it up occasionally. I had a poster when I was younger of a baseball collection that was completely full. That's where I get my style - fill it to the brim!

I'm trying to convince my wife that we need to move to a place with a shed like Ryan's. Until she acquiesces, this is my display.

I collect Vintage Lunchboxes as well as Baseball Cards/Memorabilia. I'll be tweaking the displays until the end of time (but that's half the fun).

My next change will probably be to move the card binders and make more room to display WS tickets.

mr2686 10-28-2020 02:30 PM

Gary, great display and love the lunch boxes. Hope you have better luck finding a spot for your card binders. I keep moving mine and they always end up in the way. LOL

ocjack 10-28-2020 04:51 PM

Love the lunch boxes. Another collectible I appreciated way too late. If you need to get rid of some to make room for your binders, I'd be happy to take them off your hands and give them a happy home.

Gary, the trick is promising your wife one too! It can be much smaller, and doesn't even need heating and cooling, but it should do the trick. Since I finished hers I can disappear to my shed as much as I want and I rarely hear a complaint. :D

Funny you should say that, I have a few listed on eBay. I'd be happy to make a better price for a Net54 member. PM me if you're interested.

mr2686 10-29-2020 06:59 AM

There just something so nostalgic and perfect when putting lunch boxes together with baseball cards/memorabilia...they just seem to go together. I mean, we love our lunch boxes until the time when it's "not cool" or grown up to take one to school, much like collecting baseball cards until we discover girls (or they discover us) and it's not cool to say we collect them. Fortunately, somewhere down the road, it all becomes cool again...and we get the girl too. Yahtzee!!!!

New addition to my memorabilia room / office. Realized I needed some bright colors to punch the room up a little. Bought this 1/1 Ernie Banks in the Negro League art auction. Done by Blake Jamieson, the artist who has done a lot of the Topps 2020 cards. Really happy with it. Beautiful piece. (2' x 2')

There are some awesome pics of the man cave card rooms. Wish I had half of what some of you guys have.

I'm a Baltimore Orioles collector (1954-present). My main interests are team issued postcards, photos and programs from the Orioles. I also collect items relating to the Orioles minor league affiliates, especially programs. Most of those items are stored in the albums and file cabinets.

However, as you can see I'll add just about anything that catches my eye to the collection. It's a work in progress, but here's a few pics of the two rooms downstairs. It helps that all the kids are grown and I have a little more space.

You have a museum quality museum. Beautiful combination of seats, bats, photos, unis, even a glove. Having Lee Harvey lurking under the seats is an interesting, if unsettling, touch.

Bob, I think you've cornered the market on mid to late 60s Sox pitcher flannels.

Great memorabilia rooms everyone. Every collector should have a man cave to call their own.

I'm a fanatic for original tobacco & candy advertisements which have ties to the cards we collect.....

Tony, love the displays. The tobacco and Cracker Jacks shipping crates are a great touch, and I can't even imagine how hard those were to find.

Tony,

That's just a breathtaking display. While the posters are stunning, I'm really drawn to the boxes -- I don't think I've ever seen those before.
Great stuff!

Tony,

That's a very nice collection, and it is beautifully displayed. How long did it take you to put that group together? I would guess that it has taken quite a while.

Hi Mark, thank you!

In regards to time frame on how long its taken me to accumulate these items I would venture to say its been easily 12 to 15 years.

Oddly enough these items used to pop up quite often, but the past few years availability has slowed considerably.

Not really sure what I attest that too, I just know finding these types of items has gotten much tougher (at least for me)

But I press on and continue the search ;)

Actually I would suggest that storing cards in a binder in 9/12/whatever pages sitting upright on the shelf might pose a problem down the road as gravity puts pressure on the cards at the lowest points causing the sheets and possibly the cards to curve. Not a huge concern but something to be aware of if it's to sit over an extended period of time....

Found a solution that works for me. File storage boxes that allow you to store the binder with the pages hanging. You can label the box and go directly to what you want to view. Holds (2) full 3" binders.

I started to finally do the mancave during the Pandemic. My focus is mainly baseball hall of famers, but A couple of others genres sneaked in also. Nearly all baseballs you see are signed IP by Hall of Famers, Current and Past Stars and future HOFers. My son put together a YouTube as well with me. (Please cut us some slack, I never did one before and he is 13). If you like, feel free to subscribe as I will go into more in depths of the collection and baseball autograph hobby. My walls give just a taste of the collection.

Amazing collection Frank. Did you dictate the layout for the framed pieces? And your son did a great job. Maybe he has a future in the film industry.
