The selection grows a lot in the $500+ range, depending on the condition of course. Not all pennants are as bright as that 1970s Oakland Raiders penannt :D But a number of the ASG and World Series pennants would cross the $500 threshold and possibly the Koufax ASCO photo pennant. |

Here's what $8.33 pennant postage gets you. Folded four times Just stellar.

Oooh...charging high postage and using a cheap option....that's one of my pet peaves.
As an example, I try to avoid using ebay standard envelope for cards because I've had unreliable delivery with that service. The number of times that a listing shows USPS Ground Advantage and charges postage commensurate with that but I end up getting an ebay standard envelope service. Arghhhhhhh Was your pennant OK after ironing? |

Any help? Looking for a 1953 Necco Wafers New York Yankees 5.5"in pennant to complete the rare 16 team set with ad. I also have an extra NY Giants (blue/white) for trade. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Got this for no other reason than it is beautiful. Trench at its best. Whereas halfback #12 played for virtually every team in the 1950s, I don’t recall seeing this graphic before.

Reminds me of this pennant, which has similar font and style. This is also a less common design. There is a Stanford version and maybe a Shrine game?

Finally crossed this tough one off my list, with advice from Rob and Rob about what to do and what to not do, I went ahead and cleaned it. It was even more browned/yellowed in person than my original iphone picture made it look. I put it face down on some towels and sprayed with with a solution of maybe 25% bleach and 75% water. I blocked off the spine with some plastic. That left a bit of yellowing near the spine. I then used a small paint brush to apply some of the bleach/water mixture up near the spine. It did not come quite as clean as ones that can take a more concentrated bleach spray, but the red on this one is so ready to run. When I was using the brush to touch up on the front, I got just a bit of the solution in the red paint and it ran immediately. So spraying from the back is the way to go if you ever want to try this yourself on a pennant with red graphics.

Nice job Mark...Looks great. With those 60s red graphics, the top layer of paint is just dying to (no pun intended) slough off so they should always be hit from the back...on towels to absorb any excess bleed thru.
The good news is it does wash away nicely as long as you rinse it immediately...and the bleeding stops once that layer if off. |
Yeah, great job, Marc. The red makes the process scary. The blue tassels on that pennant always seem to be badly faded.

Two more minor leagues … the KC Blues is a full-size BF3, these are rare for majors, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen another from the IL or AA or PCL. But I have seen the tiny ones. I think there’s a full-size BF3 collector who lurks around here … does anyone have or know of any other minor league versions?

Been looking for this 1965 WS champions pennant by Trench, for ages. Paid a bit more than I would've liked, but the condition was too good to pass up.

The PCL Sacramento franchise were the Wolves for one year, 1914, named after their manager Harry Wolverton.

Here are a few mini-pennants from the Pioneer League, a later relative of the Union Association that included the Great Falls franchise.
...and for good measure

Matty39 has one of the rooms I'd most like to visit if I had the chance. Looks great.
None of my recent pickups can quite compare. They are all uncommon to rare variations, and I'm glad to get them even though two have some damage. The 49ers is, for some reason, much, much, much more common in orange than in the actual 49ers color of red. I missed on this (simply forgot to bid) a few years ago and have been haunted by the memory, so am glad to get it now. The Astros is the 1969 cloth version, which we've discussed on here before. This is the first time I have seen one for sale. And the Houston Colt's was the right price (after I got the seller to remove the ebay generated default $117 shipping price for pennants). I will replace the spine on this one (with a vintage Trench spine) so it displays better on my wall. I know there are mixed views on doing that, but it's just for me and I think it's just too much bug damage to look at. |

Ken Poulsen Associates

Is anyone familiar with Ken Poulsen Associates and the “Big Sport” rugs? They appear to be from the ‘70s and were marketed as rugs or blankets or wall hanging banner or just a home den decorative. They were rather simple and crude, with a two or three color design, for Colleges, MLB and NFL. Appears they licensed some names and teams from College and maybe MLB, while others were close unlicensed references to a baseball or football team. They were woven, soft but heavy, and large 24 x 45. Just curious if Ken Poulsen made any other printed sports items? I can’t find much about them. Here is one from Pittsburgh.

Not cool
In the past couple of months, I have purchased a couple pennants on Ebay, only to have the seller tell me that they listed it wrong. One seller admitted that someone reached out to them to let them know they way undersold it. It's pretty shitty. Rant over.
