In 1909 when the Detroit team visited us, pitcher Eustaquio (Bombin) Pedroso pitched and won a complete game against Detroit without allowing hits, but he was given a run by error, he was the hero of the entire series, I show the score of that game.

1926-27 Aguilitas album specifically made for only the artists, film etc. subset? Did they make an album for only the sports postcards?
I see the word Segunda Series Artistica on the cover that got me curious. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...74a268ec52.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These are from the 1953-54 Fsforos Peloteros set. They picture players from the 1953-54 Cuban Winter league. They came in two types. One with a solid yellow background and the other with a green lined background. I know of no complete checklist for the set.

1928 Aguilitas Cuba Deportiva
Rolando, those are great photos showing some of the baseball cards from the three Aguilitas Albums. Do you know if Rafael Almeida has a card In the 1928 Aguilitas Cuba Deportiva album. He was the manager of the Vedado Tennis Club team but I have never seen his card. If you have it can you provide a scan of the Vedado Tennis club page with him on it. Thanks.

I publish in two threads, but they are different, so those who like to read my posts should open Specialized Catalog of Cuban cards and New Cuban card member, sometimes they have sent me email, asking me to publish on a subject, and I have already published that in the other thread, you should see both threads, today for example I published about different card collections in the threads, in one of Aguilitas and in the other of the Habana Cubans 1948.

Rolando, excellent images of some great cards. The El Indio set is one of the toughest sets to find cards for from the 1940s. Here is an image of the Silvio Garcia from my collection.

John, the El Indio set is one of my favorite Cuban sets. Lots of Cuban Hall of Fame members and a good number of Negro League stars. Here are a few more cards from the set: Hector Rodriguez, Cocaina Garcia, Jose Maria Fernandez and Beto Avila.

Rolando, amazing photo. Not to many people know that the San Francisco baseball club, made up entirely of black Cubans, was the team that in 1900 integrated the Cuban leagues. The team also went on to win the 1900 season championship. They dethroned the Habana club in a three game playoff. Veteran Salvador "Yoyo" Rosado sealed the victory by defeating Habana's sensational rookie Luis "Mulo" Padron (pictured below).

Just thought I'd share a photo I recently picked up. Lincoln Cleaning & Dye Works vs Schmelzer's All Nations club at Capital Beach Park, Lincoln, Nebraska on July 4, 1917. There are two Hall of famers on the AN team. Cristobal Torriente and Jose Mendez. John Donaldson (who should be in the HOF) is also pictured. I have also identified Frank Blattner in the photo (left most player on the AN team). If anyone can help identify other players I would appreciate it.

Rolando, thank you for posting the cards of Jose Maria (Kiko) Magriat and Valentin (Sirique) Gonzalez. Both are members of the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame and besides being long time Cuban League umpires they also played ball. Magriat participated in the Cuban Leagues from 1897 to 1914 and he also played in the Negro Leagues with the Cuban Stars of Havana from 1907 to 1916 (see photo below from 1913). Valentin Gonzalez played in the Cuban Leagues from 1890 to 1911. He was also one of the first Cubans to come to the United States to play organized ball. He was with the 1905 and 1906 Jacksonville Jays of the South Atlantic League. Below is his Punch card from my PC.
