The booger on my Hutch's eyebrow is a bubble in the paper. Between that and the soft corners, he's made it onto my list of eventual upgrades.

The H&S checklist has 2 of Donnie, but the only thing I have found that seems to match the description is this very minor border irregularity upper right side on card to right. It is recurring but pretty insignificant

And my Morrie RC. Interesting story.
Morris Webster "Lefty" Martin (September 3, 1922 – May 24, 2010) had a ten-year career in the majors, but his backstory is very interesting. A member of the First Army 49th Combat Engineers, Martin saw action in North Africa and was also part of the D-Day landing in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He suffered shrapnel wounds in his hand and frostbite in his feet, but in 1945, in Bonn, Germany, he was shot in the leg and the wound became infected. Thankfully a nurse discovered that Martin was a baseball player, and she convinced the doctors to treat Martin with a new experimental drug called penicillin rather than amputate his leg. The penicillin worked and thanks to that kind nurse, Martin went on to enjoy a respectable MLB pitching career, playing for seven different teams. The decorated World War II veteran lived to the age of 87 and passed away in 2010. |

An aside on Clyde. In 1946 he was the unhappy 3d string catcher for the Giants and wanted to be traded. While playing a series against the Cardinals in
St Louis the Giants accommodated the big Kluttz by trading him to the Phillies. While CK was packing the Phil’s called to tell him they had traded him to St. Louis. So CK unpacked and joined the Cardinals who went on to tie the Dodgers for the top spot in the NL, and then beat them in a 3 game playoff. I think CK contributed in one of the 2 games St Louis won. Unfortunately CK saw no action in the Cardinals 7 game series win over the Red Sox with Del Rice, who appeared here earlier, handling the catching duties |
