Not a card as defined...

I know it isn't a card as defined, but close enough :D

The first owner of the organization now known as the St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis Brown's owner, Chris Von Der Ahe.

1954 Rodine Baseball Hall of Fame PC. A really rare/obscure but well done postwar set of prewar players that I have been collecting for years.

One card with 2 Hall of Famers made into 2 separate cards, and with the magic of modern day scanning almost made to look like one card again.

On a side note, Joe Cronin has two cards in the Double Play set, this one with Ted Williams, and the other one that he shares with Jimmy Foxx. Talk about playing second fiddle twice in one set!

Dan, that is a really great looking 1. Here's mine for comparison. I wonder how many of these we could get members to post in a day.

I am fascinated by how these E222 cards of each player come in different colors (both fronts and backs) and with different text fonts. A master set would be incredible to look at!

Haven't seen too many T204s posted in this thread, so I thought I'd add one.

I would really like to pick up an Anderson with a TTT back (and a square frame too) one of these days...

Who said the Wicky McAvoy didn't have a baseball card?
With the unexpected death of Mike Powers; no "name plate" scrap from the cut sheets; good typewriter work of A's office secretary; .....
Poof!

C46 "Salida" Tom Hughes.
E91C "Long" Tom Hughes;
..... or is that Eddie Plank? Nope it says it is Tom Hughes; even though it looks like Eddie Plank; .... and Tom Hughes was a right-handed pitcher. Then again, so was Big Train.
(I know all the back story of E91; just felt a little whimsical)

Definitely an interesting card. And here is a M116 Fred Beck masquerading as Mr. Schmidt. My M116, unlike Ben's, definitely has the remnants of the original name and team ('Beck' and 'Boston Nationals') on the bottom border.

.... and seeing that Mike Nesmith's Mom hadn't invented 'Wite-out' yet; I'm curious; as to how they faded out, in order to type in a different one.

For those who think it wasn't a big deal; to have your own baseball card back then; George Pierce had a T210 and a C46, but not a "major league" card. Ironic, that Harry Steinfeldt passes; someone creates a M116 with their typewriter skills. Heck, Brian; who's to say that George's fingerprints aren't all over that beauty that you own? At least, family or friends prints.

Things that make you go, Hmmmm.

(this stuff finds me)

Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves. I love stuff like this.

Ben.

I think at this point anything made of cardboard (or paper, for that matter) can be considered a card, and most people would say a cabinet card is a "card". At least I hope so, because here is my "card" for the day: Von der Ahe's team. In case anyone is wondering, the grade is based on some erased pencil writing on the back.
