Part of the problem is its condition, I'm not sure what the original colors were (I'm guessing blue, but who knows?).

Located in Mike Egner's first guide, page 43. "1940's, Rare, $250-350" (assume in good condition)

Thank you!

It was indeed blue. Too much sun over the years has turned it grey, as is typical for these blue pennants with the thinner style felt. For whatever reason, the thin blue felt didn't hold its color, unless very well protected/preserved.

Through the years, I have had many blue pennants that faded to gray. Below is far from the worst. I usually look for upgrades and sell the inferior example on ebay for whatever I can get.

That's a toughie. Nice example too...

I do the same exact thing... upgrade when a good one surfaces, and get what you can for the lesser example. I usually get killed on the deal, but guess that's the price you pay for being picky :o

Still a great pennant! Is it full sized?

Love the metal grommets. Has there been any research as to how many years that style (vertical date on left) was done?

Edit: I also wonder if this was a St. Louis regional release? The 1938 Cards didn't win anything!
