Not saying rppcs collectors are exempt from fraud, but not any more than any collector of anything and less than the traditional baseball card collector. Unused AZO PC backs have been out there and relatively available forever. |

Here's something a little different and one-of-a-kind! A 1910 RPPC of the Equipe De Lacrosse National (Quebec) that includes Jeff Malone & Patrick "Paddy " Moran.
Paddy is the hall of fame goalie who played hockey for the Quebec Bulldogs NHA teams of the early 1900's. Jeff Malone is the brother of the more famous "Phantom" Joe Malone. There are so few printed images of Jeff, happy to land this one on ebay a few weeks ago! |
1904 Montreal Royals

Looking for this RPPC of the 1904 Montreal Royals. Yes, that's my man George Gibson 2nd from the right in the back row.
Let me know if you've seen one. Attachment 258425 |
1950 Hornell Dodgers minor league team photo RPPC, with future big leaguers Don Zimmer and Charlie Neal. This was Zimmer's first stop in professional ball.

Here is a circa 1915 RPPC of Boston Red Sox catcher Hick Cady. I picked it up several months ago, but never posted it. It was taken during Spring Training in Hot Springs Arkansas.
Can anyone help me definitively date this one? |

Nice Kevin, love the background!
If only you had a similar rppc of one of Hick's teammates! |

Kevin, here is a Pinterest photo that states it is of Ruth in Spring Training in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1915. It appears the structure in the background is the same as in your Hick Cady postcard.

Kevin and Jim I love the Hot Springs photos! I have mentioned before that these were taken at Majestic Field on the south end of the trolley line here in Hot Springs.
At the north end were Whittington Park (also called Ban Johnson Field) and Fogel Field. At the peak of Spring Training in 1911 there were eleven teams here plus over 100 other players. Majestic Field is still a field sitting next to the Boys & Girls Club and the great part of the story is that house still sits atop the hill across the street. It is now painted white with bright red and blue trim. |

Mike - I am not meaning to hijack this thread, but do you know anything about the tornado from June of 1916? Did it, in fact, destroy Majestic Field as this postcard suggests? If so, do you know how long it took to rebuild it?

1915 University of Nebraska fraternity team. I was able to identify the kid with the Ulysses uniform on just by searching for "Ulysses" in the online U of Nebraska yearbook repository. Charles Angell was his name.

Was able to score this postcard (Non Eastern Exhibit) of Cobb. Thinner paper stock and more black/white than the other version(s).

Nice Cobby! Here's another beauty that was delivered today, a 1927-40 RPPC of the House Of David Baseball Club photographed with the "Brown Bomber" Joe Louis.
Postcard has a 4 square AZO back (1927-40), if anyone can help me get a more accurate date for this postcard that would be great! Jeff |

I found my avatar!
I really don't consider myself a postcard collector, but I've been wanting this postcard for awhile now. Decided to go to an antique show today and stumbled across this. It is stamped and postmarked 1910. Happy, yet sad, because the hunt is over. |
Jantz, great PC! No need to be sad, because you now get to begin a new hunt!

One of my favorite Exhibits.

I LOVE that Ruth Exhibits. Find me one nicer card of Ruth than that. It's also pretty low pop when compared to even his 21 exhibits (3x more rare).

I used that postcard as my avatar for a few years now, but didn't actually own one. Finally found one this year. Now the hunt continues for the second version. Jantz |

Here's an odd one, a RPPC of the 1889 Washington Nationals Team with Connie Mack & Hank O'Day that was printed sometime between 1939-1950.
|
3 Attachment(s)
Here's a nice one, a C. 1907 Real Photo Postcard of the Manitowoc Baseball Team. Famous Negro League Pitcher George Wilson is sitting in the front row, first player from the left.
|
Great stuff! That Ruth is fantastic.
|
JB, nice RPPC of the 1889 Washington team, but I'm curious as to which player you believe is Hank O'Day. I don't think he is in this photo, as whomever wrote the players' names on the front of the PC did not identify O'Day as being among them. O'Day was sold by Washington to New York on July 26, 1889, hence I suspect the photo was taken later in the 1889 season. Also, "Honest" John Morrill, who apparently is not in this photo, was released by Washington on July 6, 1889, further suggesting this photo was taken later in the season.

Here's a nice 1936-40 Real Photo Postcard signed by Irving "Bump" Hadley in vintage fountain pen. Also has the George Burke stamp on the back.
|
Jim - That is an awesome display, I love looking at framed pieces. Where does it hang then? The fielding Cobb you have in there may be a bit much for it though, I could take it off your hands for ya. ;)
Great display! |
Thanks Steven, it hangs in my office.
The Cobb Fielding is yours..... just send a Rose Company Bender my way! |

You get to enjoy your cards every time you enter your office, the way it should be. Awesome! |
Very nice Jim. Nice to see postcards not in graded holders. Some newly acquired cards are in there too, some from the BST here on the board. I like the Ullman Matty the most.

Just picked up this Polo Grounds postcard:

Won this postcard from the recent REA. Wood beat Tesreau 4-3. Am assuming Giants are in the field but need to put it under the microscope to be sure.
