I think the Uni’s are supposed to be some 21st century version of the first all star game uni’s. I’m not going to put photos in, but if you are familiar with the uniforms for the 1933 game they look similar to these albeit very ugly uniforms.

Vintages 70s Yankees pennants.
15 Attachment(s)
Just picked up this batch for $250
Excited to get them in and cleaned up. Any uncommon ones in the lot? |
Excellent buy at that price. I would be interested in a few, if you are looking to move any. Just shoot me a PM, if so... Thanks!
|
That’s a helluva grab for $250!

Any idea on the bigger hits? I recently got more into pennants and man it is addicting. |

I checked the pictures and there are no duplicate pics. The seller had a lot of Yankees items. |
I'd be interested in the Milwaukee Brewers pennant if its available.
|
That's a great haul for $250. Quite a few rare ones in there. Your version of Yankees Keezer is more rare than other versions of Yankees Keezer pennant out there. The bootleg with the top hat with names on it is another good one. I wouldn't be afraid to wash anything from the 1970s.

Definitely one of the cooler non-football pennants I’ve seen. Another Collegiate of Ames 3D. How has this stayed together all these years?

For any pennant collectors that will be at the Cleveland National, I am bringing alot more vintage pennants than usual. About 1000, all priced (thanks to my wife for the pricing help). I’m at booth 342 for anyone who wants to dig - will have all sports including a lot of rare hockey, minor league baseball, etc.

Glad to add this one. Had been on my wantlist for a few years. Very nice condition.

Nice, Marc. Late 1930s I believe.

Great pickup Rob. To bring the thread across to the Bronx, I had these Yankees pennants arrive today.
I know the 1st pennant (with the names around the ball), is the sister pennants to the Dodgers version. I've not seen many of either version but I've seen multiples more of the Dodgers version. Is the Yankees version the rarer of the two? |

What year is that Yankees pennant with the names around the ball? Same (or close to same) batter appears on some Giants pennants.

Interestingly enough, the Dodger companion pennant bears a copyright mark on it: "1949 H. Wohlke." The US Catalogue of Copyright Entries lists this mark as being associated with one Arthur Rand, presumably the artist responsible for the crossed bats and ball artwork. Unclear if the batter was included in the copyright..... I haven't found much more on this Arthur Rand. "H. Wohlke" was Henry Wohlke, the apparent owner of the copyright. I suspect Henry Wohlke may have owned the company that made these pennants, but I have yet to confirm this. |

HUGE thanks to our friend Domer for making these incredible Pacific Coast League pennants available to me. The Venice Tigers date the group (two-thirds of the entire PCL) to 1913-15 and Marc has helped pinpoint to the same era from another non baseball pennant in this style. These are all 35” long.
They are already in their custom-fitted holders and up for display. If anyone somehow comes across either the LA Angels or Sacramento Solons from this series, kindly give me a holler. |

Also very cool to get this beautiful hand-made repro of the elusive 1916 Dodgers Champions pennant. Incredibly nice!

He could have been the attorney that filed the copyright, on behalf of someone else? Most likely, he was some novelty operator that sold pennants in the New York City area. What's really odd is that the copyright only appears on the Brooklyn pennant--and not the Yankees companion piece from the same '49 world series. Why? It's the very same artwork! |

I was happy to add this circa 1910 oversized Red Sox pennant recently - I have a few Red Sox pennants from the same timeframe, but this one is a new favorite! Fits in great with some panoramics and other Red Sox items from that era!

Recent acquisition. Is our resident Tigers collector here? I had never seen this before, have you?
Does not resemble any pennants from the companies we know. |
I've never seen this pennant before. The Tigers were good at using the same style Tiger and lettering across multiple pennants. I was unable to find a Tiger pennant that matches this style lettering or Tiger design.

Is this vintage, modern, fantasy? Only pic I have at this time.

I've owned a couple of these. They came in dark blue and black. The ornate edging is original to the pennant, but the example in question has faded significantly. Probably the result of years of direct sunlight. Still, a pretty rare find.

I've seen blue fade to brown in older pennants. I think Oooribay has a version of this for the NY Giants.

Here is my best faded to brown pennant. I believe it started somewhere between blue and purple.
|
That's the most brown used to be blue pennant I've ever seen.

New arrival. Seems like it’s taken forever to arrive. Paid more than I wanted to because people suck, lol.
Several references attribute the player to being Carl Hubbell, although unproven I guess. Fantastic condition with tassels intact. Egner’s book says it’s “Very Rare”. 3/4 size, 1930’s. |

Love this NY Giants design. Here is mine. For some reason, the black version of this pennant has a really wide spine. Most other versions tend to have an especially skinny spine, although I have seen a green with yellow version that also has this really thick spine. I missed out on a teal version of this pennant with red tassels a few years ago that was gorgeous. I simply forgot to bid (nobody remind ooo-ribay about this).

I think I've also see a purple version. |

Nice, Mark! That looks great. It almost matches the purple pennant I first posted a few months ago.
I'm not sure of the exact age of these pennants, but the purple was a color associated with the Giants before orange and black. I think they first used orange and black in the mid 1930s. I'll try to find the teal version... which suggests that the pennant color may have had as much to do with available stock as opposed to team colors. |

Mark- is your purple pennant full size? Or 3/4?

Your purple pennant with orange tassels is the best example of that particular pennant I've seen. No fading whatsoever, and clean as a whistle. Not sure why, but that pennant is almost always found torn and tattered. Awesome find! |

Excited to add this to my collection of Tiger pennants. It's not in the best shape and needs a little cleaning but overall I'm happy to have it, especially since I've never seen one come up for sale before.

Interesting, as the Tigers seemingly had endless Tiger designs to draw from (without having to steal from the lowly Bengals!) First time I've seen this one... great find! |
