Goody had big feet, the real reason for the other nickname, but the character Luther in the Jesse Stone novels and TV shows gets the nickname Suitcase because of the other given reason for Harry's second moniker

Maybe not know as a superstar in baseball but spent 30 months in the Atlantic and Pacific during WW2 helping with beach landings in Africa, Sicily, Italy and Normandy.

In his first MLB appearance at 15 in 1945 ( with a depleted Reds roster during WW 2) he lasted less than an inning and gave up 5 runs. His second appearance was in 1952

Another ballplayer whose career took a detour in WW 2. First Sergeant tank commander and bronze star guy who participated in the Battle of the Bulge. I think he may have been Telly Savalas' commander.

His 53 Bowman is famous for capturing the first Chinese balloon flyover

Bob served as a Marine in WW2 and played some competitive ball while stationed on Guam. Of course this was well before the time the U.S. started stationing so many troop there that there was concern the island might tip over

#98 Hector Rodriguez While the 1953 Bowman Color set is considered by many collectors to be "iconic" and "beautiful," in some cases the photography is murky, and this card of Hector Rodriguez's facial features is obscured by the photography. As we continue through this journey through our 53 Bowman Color cards, there are certain cards that can be identified as commonly found blurred.
