Hi Roland, I know this is a shot in the dark, but curious if you have any knowledge of this photo. It appears to be just a social event, but wondering if you happen to recognize the other individual. It appears to be in the 1950s. Nothing is shown on the back as it came off a scrapbook. Thanks as always.

I’ll take a stab at it, L-R Dihigo, Laz Salazar and Connie Marrero, all three are Cuban greats.
|
I think Steve is correct and that put the photo before 1958 because Salazar died in 1957- in a fitting end to a baseball life he had a brain bleed and died in the dugout during a game he was managing
|
Thank you both!

In the photo you show there are Martin Dihigo, Lazaro Salazar and on the right a Mexican team manager, I don't know his name, the photo is in Mexico. Now I show a photo of Martin Dihigo interviewing Mike González.

In the other of my threads I informed you that my catalogs are for sale on ebay cuban baseball, now I answer a question that they asked me in a message, the seller sells them separately, in different items, volume 1, is cards of 1909 Cigars Cabañas, until 1957 Pelotero Chicle, volume 2, from 1887 to 1960, cards and prints in a larger format than those of volume 1, and volume 3, of everything related to Cuban Memorabilia; in metals, fabrics, glassware, ceramics, etc. I show something from volume 2, different collections of cards.

Awesome thread! I don't have much to add to it, but I do have this item. But I'm not sure if it's actually from Cuba, or from a stateside team with a Cuba name (Kansas?). Thoughts?

JJBOND, what you show I don't know, I think it's not Cuban, thanks for showing it. Now you will see a ball-clock, inside the elephant of Cienfuegos.

The collection of "Ortopedia Díaz" 1949 cards is not common, they are rare, very few collectors have any, in my Specialized Catalog I detail them together with the well-known and little-known ones, now I show the Album cover, and the Raymond Dandridge card.
